Just got Android 7.1.1 on my Nexus 9

Sorry to hear that. My N9 after the 7.1.1 update has been running MUCH better. Just received it last night and haven't experienced any lag or freezing while browsing with Chrome.

Well I do have 30 days to return the tablet so hopefully I'll get the update before then. I have seen other posts where people say the freezing is continuing even after 7.1.1 though...

I feel you. My nexus 7 is up for sale. Found a used mint air 2 16gb on ebay. I hate when it freezes without reason.

I really wish Google would make a new 7" and 9" tablet. Sad to say, the N9 is beginning to show its age.

from what I've been hearing it looks like a new 7-inch tablet might be on the way.
Rumor has it, it will have 4 gigs of RAM and rock the Qualcomm 820 SOC.
Here's hoping....

I have a Nexus 7 as well but I do like the larger form factor at times...

I'm partial to the larger N9 size. Makes viewing websites and books much easier. However, I'm open for any new Nexus tablet.

Sadly this update of Android 7.1.1 didn't help much. My Nexus 9 it still sluggish and slow.

I feel you. Love the tablet.

Just downloaded and installed 7.1.1 and it restarted to an error screen with the little bugdroid. Now it's on an infinite boot loop and can't get past the initial Google screen.

Tried recovery but it comes back with a "no command" error. FML

Trying a factory reset now. This sucks.

Overall the update seems to have helped but Chrome still locks up. Not happy, want my great tablet back!

Chrome drives me nuts with its lag still. You'd think it would preform Much better on a nexus product.

Does anyone also have problems with the sound after updating? My N9 now sounds very, very thin, far away and tinny.


It had perfect sound before the update.

My Nexus 9 is back to freezing up often on different apps. Really bummed this once good tablet is almost unusable...

It should have been an AWESOME tablet but sadly it lacks due to either hardware or software.
I know its almost 2yrs old but the lag has always been there in one form or another....

So glad I sold mine and found a used ipad air 2. The 9 is a disgrace of a product. Freezing and slowdowns that cant be fixed.
