Well If you know you will be somewhere without a charge for the day you can definitely make it on a standard battery lol. I have twitter, facebook, weather, and email all set to sync as often as possible, Use wi-fi half of the time, Had screen down for part of the day and got sick of it and put it back to automatic.

Two hours. That takes some of the wind out of my sails lol. I did Pandora with it off. Just hit 24 hours and have 20% left. I am posting from my phone.

So a phone that is basically idle except 2 hours of screen time and that's suppose to be impressive?

Not using a phone to extend battery life... what in the hell is the point of owning a smart phone if you never use it? lol (or can't due to poor battery life)

I just committed to the extended battery day one, so far love it. Unplug in the morning, use it all day and plug in at night. Never worrying about battery life. I've only had it a week now but worst case was 100% at 7am and 25% at 11pm and that was a long, long Sat full of messing with my new phone. Games, video, around 3 hours of talk time and testing out the navigation app for a while as well. Way more than normal use for me on a typical day.

More normal day yesterday at work (phone not used as my work phone) where I check email, send texts and the random phone calls I went from 7am till 11pm and still had 63% battery. Which considering this is double the battery life, it would have eaten all but the last 10 to 13% of the stock battery on a somewhat light day of use. I'm fine with that but much rather have the 63% extra life if I needed to tether, or talk for any amount of time.

Are you guys claiming better battery life rooted? This information would be useful.

I would be far more impressed if the battery time given here was through normal use of the phone.

Yes, battery life is way better rooted. I have the extended 2750 battery and could probably go 2 days on a charge with Adrynalyne's bamf 4.4.2 kernel. Its all about the kernel.

I have am extremely heavy user, twitter mostly. Syncing is about 15 - 30 minutes a day with facebook and twitter. I also have 6 email addresses that sync daily.

Battery life is a heck of alot better when you use WIFI. I have WiFi in work and at home so I only use 4G during my ride home and the battery last all day.

Ok yes I understand the screen time was low but I used my phone ALL day! I used Pandora (screen stays off), I used Facebook, I checked twitter every thirty minutes, I updated apps, I checked email, I checked the weather, I used YouTube, I posted on this forum. I don't know how much more "normal use" I can get. I mean yes gaming and lots of internet drains much more quickly but my point of the post is for those days when you are out and know there is NO place to charge then you can with normal usage make it through a 8-10 hour day easy. Also I am in a 3g area.

I thought Houston was an LTE launch city?

I gotta say, I'm loving the 'bolt but it is tempermental. I've run it stock, rooted, three diff krnls and two diff ROMs, messed with all the settings, etc. Batt life deff better rooted but still, haven't changed a single setting on my phone in the last week and with very consistent usage patterns, some days I've made it all day with juice to spare on the stock batt and then this morning I lost 13% in under ten mins of browsing on WiFi lol... I am convinced there are either hardware build consistency issues with the production of this phone and/or serious LTE kinks to be worked out still. My 'bolt actually gets better battery on fixed LTE than LTE/3G mode, and I'm in NYC where presumably the LTE saturation is pretty thick so there should be minimal hunting around for signal. Who knows...

I will definitely agree on this. I have had days where I was lucky to get 5 hours and others like this thread but mainly average 8-9. The variation is staggering though with nothing changing on the phone??

Definitely have found that as well.

On a "normal" day when I have WIFI connected at home and work, I usually go to bed with about a 30-40% charge (assuming I start the day at 100%). If I leave WIFI off and use 4G only, I generally have to plug it in around 4 or 5 o'clock.

On a day when I'm out-and-about, that figure changes dramatically. If I actually remember to turn WIFI off when I'm not using it, it's not as bad, but I will almost definitely have to charge or switch to spare battery at some point in day if I'm using my phone. (And if I don't turn turn WIFI off, it drains even faster).
