Just noticed a New PRL on my Phone

So does it basically mean more towers are being put up in Diff locations for roaming purposes?

15011 here too. What do it mean?

PRL = Preferred Roaming List

A PRL update means that Verizon has updated their list of cellular networks (not towers as is often mistakenly stated) that the phone can connect to. What does it mean? This happens all the time and in some cases it improves cell reception, tower hand offs and battery life. In other cases it means nothing. New PRL's are pushed out periodically and the fact that there is a new one does not necessarily mean anything out of the ordinary.

Once upon a time you were supposed to dial *228 option 2 to do a manual PRL update however this will not work on a Thunderbolt or other 4G/LTE phone and can actually mess things up so never do it!

EDIT: and yes I got the new PRL as well...

But that music it played while it was updating was my JAM man!

Pull your battery then slide your sim card out then reinstall it worked for me. Mine said PRL 1

I'll tell you what when I first got the phone maaaan I thought I was going to break that damn back cover just trying to put the battery in. I was trying to be so gentle and careful and it wouldn't budge until I said FFFUUU and popped that sucker off in a fit of rage.

I've since learned to be more patient :)

I used to have the 15008 PRL and now I have 15011. My phone had it's first ever spontaneous reboot the other day and I wonder if that's when the PRL changed?

I have 14002 also and I'm on an old Alltel plan. There has to be a way to update us to every one else's PRL. I've been going through this since day 1. Old Alltel customers who will not change calling plans because it would cost $30-$50 more a month should have the same info as everyone else.

still on the old 15008, but today i have noticed that i get better data signals at home and better handoffs 4g/3g. where i charge my phone, i get almost no data signal....but today i have it on 3g. and i move to another room, it switches to 4g right away......to where before i would be stuck with no data for about 3 min until it locks onto a signal..... i dont know what verizon did.
