Keep track of 3G data outages here for Virgin Mobile

Last two hours, it was up and down. Work for 15 to 20 mins and down for another 15 mins and back up again and down. The down time most on 3 pm to 7pm busy hours time. I also work at night, down time less then day. I definitely complaint to FCC

Man, if it happen again on next 30 days, I'll have to cancel my account and back to Verizon. Verizon give 15% off for ppl work on my company. Im letting VM radio run for next 2 two to test data stabilizability

Hey,

I was at work on wifi all day. When I got into my car checked Facebook it was ok. Then I lost the signal all the way home. Checked again at 8pm and it's back. Didn't check from 6pm to 8pm.
I am in Bethel Ct and Danbury Ct and am not getting squat.

Charlotte, NC - No 3G at all for the last 8 hours or so... no amount of rebooting or reactivating has been able to bring it back. VM customer service told me there is a nationwide outage, they have no idea when it will be fixed, and they are not offering any kind of compensation for it.

since @VMUcare is on twitter, I've been posting my times/locations. Today, Vienna Va out from 1200-1300, exactly. Then, at Dulles Va, on from 1415-1545; off 1545-1900; on again 1900-1945; off 1945-2130 when it came back up and running. These times are exact.
It seems like someone is turning a switch off and on - which they would be if bandwith is being protected for the more costly "parent company" plans, restricting the lowcost "subsidiary" prepaid plans.
These times have been too precise and predictable to be random errors - my device shows 2-3 bars, and it is trying to get a handshake but not receiving on (wearing down the battery in the meantime).
So, where to go- Cricket is on the Sprint network; I wonder if this restriction is built into their plans?

Customer Service expects 3G to be running by midday today.

This is according to Carlos. 888-322-1122.

SW side of Minneapolis MN: data up this a.m.

SW side of Minneapolis MN -- Optimus V from Target

OK this morning
http://www.dslreports.com/mspeed reports 826 kbit/sec

- next concern:
bridges between work and home now closing due to Minnesota River flooding

maybe functional data connection will come in handing when looking for least congested route . . . .

I bought my LG Optimus on 2/25 and my has been out since 8:00am on 3/18. I've tried restarting the phone, battery pulls, and calling VM to no avail. I'm seriously regretting my purchase and thinking about switching carriers.

I'm on the Space Coast in Central Florida.

Since this has taken so long I expect things to continue like this. The only way to fix something like this is to add more hardware and that takes time and money. I only speculate on all this based on info from a friend in the business. At this time they are trying to rotate service within the network to keep people quite thus you see the on and off constantly. For me I get service from 7:30 pm to 3:00 pm the next day. As soon as I hit peak times it shuts off. Normally from 3:00 pm to around 8:00 pm (when I really need it too). When I'm connected my speeds vary on each test and tend to stay around 300-400 download and 500 upload (very buggy locking up allot). It really seems like they are trying there best to manipulate a very saturated system that is backfiring on them until more hardware is installed. The reason my friend says its hardware is because of the delay, if it was a software issue it would have been fixed long ago. This is a budget company for budget people doing a budget fix. All we can do is be patient or just give up and move on. I give them until April 10th then I am returning the phone for a full refund, and yes I am printing and noting internet logs from both Twitter and Facebook and here. The FCC complaint will be later for my 1 one month of bad data service. If VM would have told me something about this in the form of a text or email or a call, I would be more then patient with no complaints but there bad customer service is too much. Having to be directed to Twitter and FB and here to get information is crazy. I recieved 1 email reply from VM and it was to tell me the system was back up, and as we all know it is not. They are a lost company at this moment in a frenzy and I dont need to be a part of it.

Those sympathetic to VM pls dont reply to me...thank you

Phone has dropped to CDMA 1x at around 12pm CST. Attempt to reconnect to 3G, forced to CDMA 1x. Chicago area.

I have had data since last night though I cant tell you if it dropped for a little while. Now in peak time 5:46 its working at 120 down 110 up. First time its worked at this time in almost 2 weeks. I recieved another email from them:

Hello, Thank you for your account information. I have done some basic troubleshooting to your account. Can you please remove the battery from your handset a couple of times? Pia L.Social Media Team

Huh a couple of times huh!! lol well so far its been ok. Very buggy and sticky and slow right now but data is up. I cant stream HD video at all with out it buffering but I can slow surf and stream music. IF the trend stays the same it will get faster as it gets later. It's progress for today.

You have 2 days to return it if you bought it at Radio Shack.

I understand your frustrations. And believe me Im just as frustrated as you and many of the people showing their arse on FB. The difference between you them and I? I have patience and understand the growing pains. If you think Im saying your opinion doesn't matter I apologize for giving that impression. Your opinion does matter as does the others upset. But trying to give ultimatums will get you no where.

If I was in your shoes I would take the phone back and explain you have been without data more days than with it. Also explain that the customer service from within VM has be sub-par. Be calm and courteous and don't lose your temper. I would bet you will get much better response from the store.

I so far have been lucky that I havent had to have the data part when Im not near wifi. So I havent suffer from it like many of you. It does however upset me that if I needed it I probably wouldnt be able to access it.

I challenge you to prove VM is a budget company! A good friend that lives just outside Glasgow is using VM there and he says pretty much everywhere he goes he has full coverage. So your blaming the wrong monkey in the office. The difference is in the operator of the carrier in the US. Sprint is the weak link not VM. They did not plan well and was not prepared for the release of the unlimited data/text and voice plans on the prepaid end of their networks.

lol Growing pains!!lol Ultimatums lol Come on man!
Dude I am not so mad as make it. I have a choice still to return my phone up until next month not like some unfortunete people out there. You seem like the kind of person that gets ripped off then has to find the perfect reason to do something about it rather then face the problem for what it is. Look at it this way, if you make donuts and people are telling you the sugar tastes like lemons. Will the customer blame the company that sold you the sugar? No they wont they will blame you...the person they paid. VM or Sprint what ever and who ever, the problem was not forseen and things went wrong. Yes VM is competing with MetroPCS, Boost Mobile, etc for the prepaid service at a compeditive price and unfortunetly the Sprint network is prioritized for Sprint customers. Now FYI my sister uses Sprint and she has had some Data issues too but not even close to VM. Sprint owns VM so who you wanna blame is your choice. The point is they prioritize Sprint over VM right? Why? Why do you think? Because the Sprint customers pay more! Period!!! and Sprint has a customer base that is much more profitable. So they must budget VM in many ways like bandwidth, service, costs, etc. You love VM well good for you! take them to bed and sleep with them...cuddle together what ever.

On a brighter note: I have recieved 2 emails from VM and there CS has been informing me after sending them some emails. I told them my issues and they are communicating finally. Today I had data all day for the first time in almost 2 weeks. Hey maybe I will keep the phone but it will mostly be because I love the Optimus V. I will need to gain my trust in VM still, the trust in the service and reliability, this is what I pay my hard earned money for.

450 up/ 320 down at 10:20 Miami, FL

Just got a text saying: "We've added Pass It On airtime bonus minutes to your account. Enjoy!"
