Keeping or Returning?

100% keeping. I cant see any pixelation issues unless I put my face a couple inches away. Not had any audio glitches, whines, or static. Everything on this phone works fine. As far as battery life, the Bionic battery lasts way longer than my Incredible battery, so I am satisfied.

To all those that say they are returning because other phones are coming out soon, there are always new phones coming out. It's a vicious cycle. As soon as you get your next phone a new and greater phone will be on the horizon. Technology doesn't stop.

This is by far the best phone I have owned, in my opinion, it's a keeper.

i just think with the vigor and the prime coming out next month, people are having second thoughts about this phone. I know i did and that's why i returned it.

Yep. I am back on my OG now, and it's good to be home! It feels great! I am running a LV 1.1ghz kernel though.

I know that whatever phone I eventually upgrade to, I will still miss this baby. It's been very good to me.

I'm sure a lot of great devices will be dropping around Christmas.

It sure seems like tons of people are returning the Bionic. You have to wonder how in blazes the expert reviewers got this all wrong. I mean, this is embarrassing for Motorola, the phone is crap.

I have had one incident where the phone goes black and can't start without removing battery.. my main complaint has been battery I have been getting maybe max 6 hours of phone life with moderate use. Im really hoping Motorola is working on an ota update to improve the bionic

But by then new ones will be rumored and announced, new processor benchmarks showing up and so on. It never ends.

I like mine :p

My phone is amazingly fast, my battery life outstanding, but this camera is killing me. Its horrible and it might push me to return the phone. I really like the phone but video and still shots are bad.

I'm just wondering what it is that everyone is so up in arms about this phone? I don't have one (yet) but I'm getting one next week some time. It seems like a lot of people love it or hate it. I had the D3 and the Pentile screen did not bother me at all. I know the battery life won't be great on 4g, so I'm ready for it. I also used the D3's camera and it wasn't great, so I'm assuming it's probably pretty similar to the Bionic's.

Other than that, what am I missing that's so awful that people are returning it?

I've yet to ever own the perfect phone. If i did, then I would never have the need to upgrade.
Something will always come out better.
Some people want a perfect phone, and if its not 100% perfect, it's a problem.
I, like many, wonder if the upcoming phones will be better. It's a chance they will better, and it's a chance they won't. Who knows.
While some know that once they pick a device, they will be locked in for two years. They've also used up a good portion of their hard earned cash.
Money is not an issue for some, so if another device comes out that they have to have, they get it at full retail and move on.
There will never be the best of anything. As soon as you purchase something that's supposed to be the best, something else comes out that's even better. I'd say enjoy what you have and not worry about what may or may not come out.

As for the Bionic, I plan on keeping mine. Unless it does some strange things in the next 12 days or so.
It addresses the problems I was having in my previous phone.
It's faster, has a bigger screen, good battery life, and a screen I can finally see and use outside.
Camera could be better, but it's still good. It's not like I'll be taking wedding session photos with my phone.

Hey its my first post here!

Im coming from the OG droid with my Bionic. I had a few complaints with the camera at first but found out after some research that the quality issues I was having was just a confusion on my part about the 6MP or 8MP setting. After finding this out i'm taking beautiful pictures now. Same goes with the video capture. setting it on 1080P from the 720P out of the box made a huge difference in picture quality.

Now, my only gripe is battery life. Im really not having good battery life. Maybe 8 hours with a little dinking around with 4G activated and no GPS. Im on my 3rd or 4th charge cycle now and im left with changing numerous settings to see how the battery life changes.

other than that, Im 100% keeping it. Love this phone.

Yeah but, I'm not "that" guy. I am spoiled by the developer love for the D1. I have been very happy with my D1 for two years, and when I upgrade, I'd like to be just as ecstatic about that device.

The Bionic just didn't do that for me. I can't knock anyone that does feel that way though. We all have to choose the device that best fits our own needs. Many people don't like the D1, but I love it.

To each his/her own. It's why we all drive different makes/models/colors of vehicles. Find different people attractive, like different foods, have different hobbies/interests, etc..

I don't care if other people think my phone is awesome or not.... I care if I think it's awesome :-D

Kudos to all that are keeping the Bionic, and kudos also to those that are still searching. The great thing is... we ALL love Android!! :-)

haha, as if it wasn't bad enough that the phone eats through battery even with 4G off and me not even using it, I just went to check how much battery I had and the phone had shut itself off.

Comeon Bionic, you're making my decision way too easy. At least put up a little bit of fight man.

Wow. This phone has a 50% return rate. Even after the complete redesign. Wonder how those numbers would look had the first version at CES released. O_o

Where are you getting that number from?

It sure seems like tons of people are returning the Bionic. You have to wonder how in blazes the expert reviewers got this all wrong. I mean, this is embarrassing for Motorola, the phone is crap.

The phone is not crap at all. If not for the battery situation it would arguably the best phone on the market.

Android central =/= the real world. Just because there's people on here returning it, doesn't mean that it has a high return rate. We are more...discerning...than your average customer, so what bothers us won't bother 95% of everyone else.

The phone is still a fantastic piece of kit well worth the praise it's getting, but the hype clearly created a no-win situation for moto with customers like us.

As for me; once i get my dinc2 from eBay the bionic is going back. I'm not sold on it, and there are things that are bothering me that no amount of time is going to fix. Its still a great handset, and the best on Verizon by a country mile, but it just isn't for me. (and that's what it really boils down to. The bionic, like all new handsets, has some bugs. But the reason I'm actually returning it is because it isn't a good fit for me as a user)

Hell no I am not returning the Bionic. I am not into downgrading or waiting anymore. Sure, some nice phones are in the pipe, but they are not going to smoke this device for a good while.

+1.

Keeper here too. LOVE the phone. No issues except for 1 battery pull 2 days ago. Otherwise, it's by far the best phone I hav ever had.

Battery issues? Get Juice Defender. I just went 38h without a recharge and moderate phone use all day yesterday and today... On 4G, wireless and bluetooth.
