Leak Gingerbread-July 30

No offense to anyone here, but just root already. Gingerbread is here, as is MR2.5 radio. MR2 didn't last very long, lol. View attachment 10842View attachment 10843View attachment 10844View attachment 10846

The last phone I rooted was my Droid X. I used the one click root by zfour. The phone was never the same after. It was slower, rebooted occasionally, and I couldn't remove bloat ware.
I know this was not the usual result, but with the T/B root method being so much more complicated I am willing to wait.

Yes i totally agree. I'm already on 2.3.4! I don't recommend MR2.5 it produced reboots not only for me but many other. MR2.5 gave me faster charging but not worth the reboots.

Complicated? I have to disagree. This was my first android ever (first device not a BB in 4 years) the manual root was so easy. Had one roadblock but it was my own fault. You could always just unroot it if your tb "never the same".

Haha, that's perfect!

Also, i'll echo what some have said about rooting, but i'll also add it to the details which confirm legitimacy. We have GB because of a leak, right? And wasn't that leak 2.3.4? Also, this leak completely fixed my gps, and my battery lasts longer. The document may be a fake, but I don't think the contents are.

I am sitting next to a Verizon employee who says this is fake. The logo placement is not correct or a few other things.

The logo placement? If you look at the current PDF page on the Verizon support site for the MR1 update, the logo appears to be in exactly the same place and the lettering and fonts appear to be the same also.

Yea i looked at older pdfs too and they look the same. That vzw rep sitting next to jbomb11 adds to the already long list of reps that don't know what they are saying at vzw. Seriously I feel bad sometimes at how strongly they believe they are right at stores, online and on the phone.

It wasn't only the logo placement. It was the screen background. The language on the flyer etc... She scoured the image and said it didst look right.

I'll agree on the language. VZW uses complete sentences for update descriptions, not one or two word lists. Look at all of their recent device update pdfs. All have complete sentences. (eg. this, this, & this)

I just got off the phone with a Verizon tech specialist cause of my reboot issue. She said the reboots are a known problem and if I can wait an update will be out by the end of the month. She didn't know an actual date just that it was scheduled for the end of June. Most Verizon reps I talk to don't know jack about smartphones but she seemed somewhat in formed. I would still take it with a grain of salt but it's better than nothing.

If you look at the MR1 update pdf it looks just like this reported MR2 update. Update pdfs are different than phone ads like you referenced.

I think everyone believes we'll get an update by EOM. The question is will it include everything in this leaked pdf.

I spoke with someone who said this, too.

Well then its settled. I will be patiently waiting for an mr2 at the end if this month. Whether it brings whats on that flyer or not. Im quite happy with my ThunderBolt right now anyways. Just loaded BAMF gingerREMIX 2.1

I also spoke with a rep who has a thunderbolt, she has been told an update was coming mid June

I just got my TB about 2 weeks ago, came from a BB, which I liked and missed the messaging/email capabilities, but this thing with boot up speed of 1-2 minutes over 7-8 min on BB is great. Cant wait for Gingerbread
