LG G3: How am I supposed to hold this thing?

Re: How am I supposed to hold this thing?

I don't know why I come to there forums any more.
All I see is people whining like little spoiled kids.
Its either to big or to small. Its either not fast enough or to slow.
Its always something that a phone can't be perfect. Yet everyone wants the perfect phone. Well it doesn't exist. Build your own phone.

No offense, but I think these forums were set up so people could share their opinions, positive or negative. Sure some of it gets repetitive, but that's kind of how it is. And sometimes someone shares a negative opinion and someone else will have a solution for it.

Re: How am I supposed to hold this thing?

I've read a few reviews on the LG G3 and almost all the reviewers said they were turned off initially by the large display but once they actually held it in their hands they felt fine and most people liked the no bezel. I haven't held one in my hands yet but I don't think holding the phone is going to be too much of an issue.....

Re: How am I supposed to hold this thing?

I personally love the look and feel of a phone with next to no bezel. I have never had an issue holding or using it in landscape or portrait. But I can see where you are coming from. Maybe try it before you knock it? You may be surprised by how fast you adapt. If I wanted bezels I would buy an iphone. :P

If i could palm a basketball, i'd buy a G3. Seriously, when will the race for the largest phone end?

LG made those people who clamor for almost bezel-less displays pretty happy with this design I guess. Unfortunately I'm not one of them. I hate playing games and watching movies on devices that don't have a decent bezel. I hate having to "crab grip" the back of the phone with my hand and finger tips to avoid touching the screen because it's not natural or comfortable. And when I'm holding it in landscape in this awkward unnatural fashion, and I want to change the volume, I have to carefully place my thumb on that non existent bezel while reaching behind the phone. Not liking this design decision, I think it was spawned more by wanting to be gimmicky rather than by practicality and function.

I'm confused. If the phone doesn't suit your needs, why not purchase a different device?

The idea of having a next to no bezels was to pack the largest display into the smallest body. Some people love it, some do not. I think it's outstanding.

You mad bro? ;)

I went int oan AT&T store today to see if they had the $5 qi wireless charger, no dice. But i held the lg g pro (5.5in) and it wasnt bad, the G2 felt nicer and was a few cm shorter and slimmer, but i could make do with the G3.

The lg g flex was way to dang big imo lol

He stated his opinion. Doesn't look like he is complaining to me. I for one love the no bezels.

Get an iphone then.

I appreciate the defence but it's ok. Im well aware that he is someone who gets pleasure by typing annoying/controversial/offensive words at strangers on internet forums, for them to read. B-)

lets see, you bought the phone withoutchecking it out in the store first, and now your blameing on the company (huh).

Not to be rude or hurtful to the sensitive, but...If you want to play games, get a tablet. If you want to watch movies, get a bigger tablet. If you OCCASIONALLY want to play a game or watch a video while waiting on a bus or train, then buy a large screen phone like this one.

I still highly recommend a real computer or console, for which there are better games than the poorly optimized shovelware clotting Android's software ecosystem. With a real screen that shows detail and everything. That said, 6" is pretty big and my G Flex can run x86 emulation and power full scale USB peripherals like an Xbox 360 controller. As to movies and such tablets are kinda awful for them. A phone isn't going to be better than a tablet, but I watch my Flex from 12-18" away and it looks fine.

I really enjoy my Tab 3 7.0 LTE, but my Flex is something like 80%+ of the screen area at 60% of the surface area and just over half the weight with BETTER battery life...so I have been using the 7.0 mostly for mail and sometimes as a reader. Larger tablets pushing 10" and more seem un ergonomic and fragile without a case and keyboard, but heavy/confined/slow compared to a laptop after adding the keycase. A 14" laptop just over 4lb somehow feels lighter to me than a 10" tablet weighing 3+ with accessories, and it sits better in the lap....a 5-6" phablet weighing about 6oz or less is even more confining but may be held almost indefinitely and fits in a lot more bags and pockets than a tablet.

lets see, you bought the phone withoutchecking it out in the store first, and now your blameing on the company (huh).

It's not even that, it sounds like bad posture learned from smaller chassis. My Echo taught me a few things about different sized frames and screens.

Re: How am I supposed to hold this thing?

Because video and gameplay in landscape is easier on phones with some bezel. I get that it isn't the majority of people facebooking and snapchatting etc who care about that. Doesn't make it wrong for the ones who do though

Your feelings hurt bud?
I watch videos and play games all the time on my devices and never once thought, man I wish it had larger bezels. If anything I actually hate the larger bezels on the nexus 7

I thought you'd get the reference :-))
I hate wasting subtlety

Hahah so inaccurate. Amusing, but inaccurate. You certainly don't understand some of these multi-syllable words you've been tossing out... Controversial? C'mon, look that one up.

I like that rather than engage others with differing views, you discredit and ignore them, i.e. asking if you've offended someone in a mocking manner rather that engage them further.

That's neither here nor there. Personal recommendation, though, is that if you can't hold the phone, it may not be for you :)
