Looking like At&t and Verizon are selling the 2/16 models based on the part numbers and specs at PDA net. They are usually good at keeping track, but not confirmed until the carriers say what they are carrying.
Please be a 32gb version on AT&T...or else I may just wait for the Note4.
The G3 is going to be about the same size as the M8. The M8 fits nicely in the hand, but it is a little tall compared to most phones.
The camera is pretty good. The only downside is the spatial resolution. 4 MP is fine for social media, and it is one of the best social media cameras. But if you like to print or crop your pictures, it probably isn't the camera for you.
It is still a great phone, and one of my favorites. The radio issues I have seen have mostly been on Verizon.
The M8 I had never had any signal issues, and data speeds were superb.
Just an update for you. I did go ahead and purchase a G2 and sold my M8. I have to say, life is much better now. I can't believe the difference between the 2 phones. This makes me really want a G3, just because I think the G3's going to be the greatest phone ever. (I have no doubt it will disappoint me in every way.) For now, I'm a happy man with my G2.![]()
This is strangest release to announce it and not give out a date.
Pro S5
Glad to hear you're happy with your G2!
The G3 may be an improvement. Probably in every way except battery life.
That 2k QHD screen is going to suck battery. Some reviews are out and they have been mixed when it comes to battery life. Some say good, some say it bad. I don't see why it needed a 2k display, other than for marketing purposes. 2k is a step up, but I don't think it's needed. The differences between 1080p and 2k can only be seem in certain circumstances with these small screens.
I would rather have long battery life and a nice 1080p screen than a 2k screen that is a serious battery hog.
Ya. I'm having second thoughts again about it. I'm happy with the G2, so I need to stay there, huh?
If you're happy with the G2, you should stay with it for a while, at least. You should wait until more reviews are out and until it has been out for a few weeks. This should help you get an idea of how battery life is, as well as how it compares to the G2. There will probably be numerous in-depth comparisons not long after the G3's release.
However, you could always order one and test it for yourself. Most carriers will give you 14 days to return it. If you like it, you can always sell the G2 to help pay for the G3!
It's pretty funny how no one believes anyone else around here. Verizon will be releasing the G3 for purchase in stores on July 17th. Let's meet back here then for flames or apologies.
Ciao for now.
