LG G3 Wireless Qi charging

I bought the VZW wireless charging circle case and peeled the charging pad out of it and then peeled the NFC pad out of the original batter cover and then placed the wireless charging/nfc pad from the circle case in to the standard battery cover. Works great and works with all phone cases.

My VZW charges on QI pads.

Do u know where the nfc pad is located on battery cover??

Correct. Regardless if your phone is PMA. The receiver is Qi and will send signal to the USB port. Essentially its tricking the phone into thinking that you're charging via USB cable when its really via Qi wireless.

That sounds tacky. That defeats the purpose of not plugging anything in the first place. But that's just my opinion.

So the sticker just peeled out of the case an re-stuck to another one?

If so, I guess I could do that from the AT&T Circle Case to the stock back?

Please confirm, thanks!
Yes, this would work.

The NFC sticker is on the inside of the battery cover. It's a sticker with 2 pins. Its not hard to miss. If there is no sticker, than there is no NFC on there.

You're leaving it plugged in unlike with a sub cable, you have to plug in every time you have to charge. Only issue is if you're plugging in your car with a usb cable.

But everyone has their own preference.

I hope it works for you, I tried 2 different receivers that plug into the usb port and neither worked. Got a message essentially saying it could damage the phone then a red X showed up on the battery on the notification bar. I've used these for other devices and never had a problem.

Why not just buy a universal Qi wireless receiver? Its a receiver with a thin ribbon and a USB cable at the end of it. Put the receiver between the battery and battery door cover. Close it up and the ribbon will hang out from the phone. Plug the USB cable into the phone. It's kind of tricking the battery into thinking its being charged via USB cable when in reality, its wireless due to the receiver communicating with the Qi charging pad.

Yeah I'm not knocking anyone doing it and it is a solution considering, I just prefer things to look the way they are designed and having a cable sticking out just doesn't interest me.

I'm the same as you, in that regard. I'm OK with PMA. I'd rather use PMA than have a cable hanging out the backside of my phone either always plugged in or dangling off if I need to plug my phone into my car charger or PC to transfer data or what not.

Yes, I have been using them successfully with my AT&T G3.

The flip-over cover annoyed me, so i carefully cut it off. I am disappointed that they do not offer a back without a front cover with Powermat charging, but I am sure that they will in due time, both LG through AT&T, and third parties. That place on eBay referenced here that sells all sorts of backs sent me a note stating they are working on one for the AT&T version with Powermat charging, and to check back in in a couple of weeks.

Of course it would have saved us all a lot of hassle if AT&T would have just put the Powermat charging sticker in the stock back to begin with!!

I was at first disappointed and annoyed that AT&T went Powermat instead of Qi, since I already had 3 Nexus Qi chargers for my Nexus 5. But I actually kind of dig them, the charger itself makes an escalating noise when charging is initiated, and a descending tone when charging is stopped. That is very helpful when the phone is on silent or vibrate and you do not get an audible tone to confirm that it is charging. With my Nexus, sometimes it starts charging then stops, and you come back to get it and the phone is not charged. If that happens with the Powermat you at least get the audible tone. I have been using an LG G3 watch since early July, so I often have my phone completely on silent.

BTW, don't pay $50 for the charger from AT&T. Go to Amazon or eBay and buy a Duracell Powermat charging kit for the iPhone 4/4S, includes a Powermat charger and a Powermat iPhone kit, and throw away the iPhone case and keep the charger. I bought some as low as $5.95 for the Single Charger.

I'm in the exact same boat but I am trying to wait on a company to come out with a PMA back cover. My Qi chargers get hot after a while. Do the PMA chargers also get hot?

Sent from Frope's sweet G3.

That just happened to me. Picture showed 4 pins. Received it today and its just a plain cover with no sticker. The day after I ordered their listing shows they changed the picture which now shows just a plain cover. I'm awaiting their reply before reporting to eBay.

Same here. The one I ordered had a 4 pin picture and a note in the description that the charging wouldn't work for ATT. Got it and only 2 pins. That would by why I HATE ordering things from ebay.
Do a Google search for the Euro cover's part ID and you will find other non-ebay sellers. I'm going to try one of those out tonight.

Yes they do. Buy the case in store as it is scanning for less than $13. Then buy the charger off of Amazon for less than $20.

How is it $13?

One of the reasons I decided to purchase the G3 was it was supposed to be compatible with QI wireless chargers. Now I am told that a special backplate is required ans Sprint does not have them. I have been unable to locate one online. Does anyone have an idea as to where to find one?

I bought mine at a Verizon store; this will work with yours. Stores are running out, call one in your local area and they can check inventory for the stores in your area. Good luck!
