LG G4 First Impressions & Pending Review

Re: The times they are a changin

Just giving you a hard time. Glad you like the phone! :D

Haha its all good fun here at AC and the great thing with me is I'm exactly that. I don't change whether that be speaking face to face or on forums.

No I'm not insane my mother had me tested lol

I just write exactly what's on my mind and we all live in different parts of the world and thusly you might not get what I'm saying.

It cool have fun with it as long as its not offensive lol

Re: The times they are a changin

Sorry, not nearly poetic as Duncan... simple, short answer; G3 was so good I assumed the G4 would be better. And it is... LOL

Re: The times they are a changin

LG simply nailed it with the G series starting with the G2.

I'll be honest if I wasn't suffering from UPGRADEITIS (LOL), this is the flagship I would keep throughout my contract/2 years.

Clearly what got my attention is the Display/Body, squeezing it all down. I love the little things like KnockOn, Custom Home Keys & Keyboard and of course for the G4, the Leather back. :)

Anyone else have a spouse that you have to explain why you have to get a new phone every year to?

My girlfriend has yelled at me a few times since I haven't kept a device more than 6 to 7 months haha.

Re: The times they are a changin

Personally I feel every year we keep singing the same tune for every flagship. Just go back history and search any device forum, except may be M9

Yeah,it says more about us than the technology, but there are worse issues to have.

Re: The times they are a changin

LG targeted Android users needs with the design of the G4 and Samsung is targeting the perceived needs of iPhone users with the s6.
If I wanted an iPhone I'd buy one.

She's OK with it as long as I don't talk about my new phones. That's why I come here!

I have a G4, S6, Note 4, 6 Plus, Xperia Z2 , Nexus 6 in my possession. No way am I asking forgiveness. I know she would divorce me. Luckily she barely pays attention to phones and wouldn't know from one day to next what I'm carrying.

Yep. Then I get in crap, promise not to change phones again, then proceed to change phones again.... Lol

Re: The times they are a changin

"So what drew you to the g4?"
For me it was equal parts drawn & "pushed". Had a galaxy s3, loved it. S4 & s5 dropped but <yawn> they weren't innovative... at all. Then the s3 started having weird charging issues. And it lagged. Oh the lag... I broke the damn thing frustrated with the lag! Looked at the s5 one more time - ugh - ginormous bezels & a band-aid back. Not for me. HTC m8 was a big phone with a little screen & a $%&@# camera. Nope.
I'd heard about the g2. Sealed in battery (not good but it's big), Super slim bezels. So i took a chance & got the g2 (right before the g3 launched) & was amazed. Knock on kicks ***! I couldn't care less that the battery was sealed, I could go 2 days without charging! Awsome phone but i really wanted a larger screen. S6 & s6e come out & there is absolutely nothing appealing about either. And if you ask me, Samsung has become a little to fruity (not THAT kind of fruity you freak!) with the way they do things. Too apple like. Htc m9 still has the same issues as the m8 (and m7).
Now I have the g4 & i really like it so far. Love love love the screen size. Battery life seems good (day 3) & should get better.

And there is NOTHING wrong with a plastic build!

Lol that's exactly what I do. Let's see, last year it was iPhone 5s, HTC One, Oppo Find 7a, Xperia Z2, GS 5, iPhone 6, LG G3.

Re: The times they are a changin

I've been thinking about this and can honestly say that if Colby Brown had never done his article about just how fantastic the camera is, I don't know if I would have been as interested in the phone as I was.

A phone is a sum of it's parts and in the case of the g4 it adds up to a lot... more so than any other flagship for me.

My initial impression of the phone hasn't changed, I'm still wowed by it, and in part because the honeymoon just started, but all indications lead me to believe that this is the best phone to date I have ever owned...

The fit and finish is every bit as good and better than some of the most expensive flagship phones available today. Cell reception is better than I have ever had before, the WiFi is faster, there is zero lag or hesitation opening or closing apps that I have experienced so far, and finally the camera... that awesome camera and it's controls...

So... If I had to say what 1 thing drew me to the g4 it would be the camera, but it's the whole package that has made a fan out of me.

Bingo. They made an iPhone without the battery life, and added bloat and lag.

Re: The times they are a changin

think all wives and girlfriends are that way....most don't care about the tech as long as it works so they keep devices longer
