LG G4 H815 Android Marshmallow update rollout and initial impressions

Dont waste your time updating to marshmallow. It is more of a downgrade than an upgrade. Just avoid at all costs. Stay on lollipop until marshmallow is fixed

Thank you for your kind suggestion, Actually I am android developer, so I need a device at marshmellow so i can test my application crashes or bugs which users are facing at marshmellow.

I am in South Africa. Got the update over LG bridge. Initial impessions are that touch sensitivity is improved. Standby battery life is better but screen-on time is down. Device runs smoother and is more zippy but tends to run hot. No issues with connectivity or signal strength. Pretty good all round.

I have gone from jelly bean to kitkat, from kitkat to lollipop on my old galaxy s4.

Phone was very bad that i want to throw it on a brick wall. But from my experience it goes back to normal after a few days. So just chill guys and give it max 7 days if its still the same after that then you may rant on this thread again.

Can people who have upgraded to MM post whether you have factory resetted your device or not after upgrade. It would be nice to know if the people having issues have done so or not. Thank you!

Agreed. I plan on doing this anyway actually.

On an unlocked H815 from Taiwan,

I just followed the instructions for full wipe at G4 help atforum.xda-developers dot com using LGUP software.

One error during the flash (not sure what it said, I just let it finish the flash), then it seemed to hung-up during the first boot. Took the battery out put it back in and now, everything seems fine.

First impressions: good. I did a full wipe because I was having issues before. The phone would constantly crash. So far it seems that that problem is gone.

I will post if I find any issues. Note at the above link there's instructions if you don't want to do a full wipe.

Now to figure out what setting I should be using on AT&T prepaid for LTE. So far I'm only seen H. (that's what I had before the upgrade too)Edit: Fixed. for whatever reason preferred network mode was not set to LTE.

Finally someone with the same model as mine.
Quick question, does LGUP require root?
And did you go this route also because there was no update showing up for you on LGBridge?
