LG g4 release date/speculations

Not sure if there is a thread about this yet but I own a g3 and can't wait to see the g4. Samsung released s6, do you guys think g4 is close behind? I won't even look at Samsung until I see the g4. Beyond impressed with my g3. Any ideas what to expect with the g4? Once you go small bezels you can't go back lol

Well Samsung has only just announced the S6. LG has said they are waiting until April (spring) to unveil the next in the G series.

While metal would be nice, I don't want to loose the the ability of changing batteries. My wishlist for my next smartphone:

- 5-5.5 inch amoled 1080p display
- higher brightness, darker low-brightness
- premium, but durable materials
- make it easy to hold and less slippery
- higher customization, would love a wooden back
- changeable battery (7h SOT)
- quick charging & built-in wireless charging
- 64gb version, no more need for microsd for me
- front facing speakers
- camera with better low-light performance
- capacitive buttons
- less bloatware, faster UI

I don't see that happen. I guess, I'll stick with my G3 for one more year at least.

Too many pixels. Battery would have to be at least 4000 mAh for decent performance.

I think they are going to use those upgraded materials for the new flagship they are planning, and not for the G4.

I originally missed that you wanted a 3840p resolution. You do realize that is even higher than 4k and the UltraHD resolutions of 2160p?

3840p would be closer to WHXGA, which is 5120 × 3200. That is a PPI density of over 1100 for a 5.5" screen. Overkill?

I read somewhere Samsungs next galaxy note 5 will have a 5.9-inch 4K Super AMOLED display so im hoping LG G4 will have same or better

A lot of people are saying the newer Super AMOLED panels from Samsung, like on the Note 4, are very good as far as color accuracy. Although I like the "look" of the IPS LCD panels more.

I agree. The screen on the note 4 looks great but something about amoled I'm still not fond of. Rather a nice lcd

On my tab s 8.4 pictures are so over saturated they look terrible. I hope they fix that if LG uses this type of display. On the galaxy note edge it's not saturated so Samsung May have corrected it already

I read LG was going with a 5.2 size and a upper 5 to 6 inch one. Not sure just a rumor I think

Unlike last year, I'm not hanging on every announcement for the LG G4. One reason is because I think the G3 is a perfect phone, or at least it's perfect for me.

The only way I'd even look at the G4 is if Wifey wanted my G3. Since she hasn't been impressed with the G2, I know better than to give her the G3. What she really wants is her S4 back. I told her I'd buy one for her, but she said she'd be mad if I did. I still might pick up a S4 off Swappa and just let her get over it. Life's too short not to have something you like. Wow did I just get waaaay off topic. Sorry, but I feel better
