LG G4 - The Honeymoon is over!!

There's just so much that goes into battery life. Different areas/carriers.

I had the S6 for about a week...and compared to that, the G4 is amazing. Especially the stand by time.

The only thing that I do agree with is the amount of time it stays at 100%... But after that, I don't see a drastic drop at 40-50% compared to 80-90%...

I unfortunately returned my G4 as well, I swapped it out once so two different handsets with the typical battery tweaks that every one location services etc.. It's odd the phone would hold a charge at 100% for a while but as soon as it broke 100% when the screen would be on the battery would just drain and was not as good as I would have hoped for the size.

I have gone back to my s6 which is pretty good as I can average 3.5 to 4hrs a day in auto brightness.

The reason I chose the s6 over the g4 in the end was that even though the cameras were very similar I felt it offered more for just about the same money and was overall the more cohesive package dollar for dollar.

Quick charge out of the box, wireless qui charge and pma out of the box (no extra $50 back plate) , brighter screen for daylight, fingerprint scanner, higher quality built materials (yes I use a case but what ever), faster memory, faster processor (top scores in all benchmarks), similar if not faster overall performance and as silly as this sounds, I think Samsung finally has touch wiz in a decent place.

I use nova but the menus in the g4 just seemed to cluttered, tab views are dated.

Overall I think the g4 is a fantastic device but there was just something about it that didn't sit right with me.

Cheers

Looks like sticking with my Note 4 was the right call all along. This phone is impossible to beat.

Possibly. For many of us that own the g 4 that was also the right call too.

The Honeymoon is over Take 2......

If applied without the reference to the G4 and lets say your wife.

So one wouldn't come back from their Honeymoon and take the wife back to the store, teehee sorry to the place you first met and say look you ain't lasting and your a head nip.

No you would try to work things out and or get outside help or just settle and be accommodating.

With tech there will always be that frustration & perhaps it can be addressed by asking for help or await an update. With the G4 there is the replaceable battery and even the offer of a free one to some.

So there you have it Lg have been accommodating as there is the above option available until updates are pushed.

Some will get a great experience out the gate, while others will not. Lg cant predict what will happen as we all use our devices in different ways.

To gather statistics and try to implement solutions for all the ways in which we use, then it wouldn't be a yearly flagship cycle.

I presume you got a bad apple (pun not intended) out of a large bunch of good ones.

If I were you, before I go into a forum and post a rant, I'd attempt to diagnose the issue as best as I possible can before jumping to conclusions.

Given how others reported decent to good battery life on the G4, it's either a rogue app or service killing your battery or you might have a defective device.

Note that wakelocks wreck havoc on your battery life. Google Play Services and Facebook are often the biggest culprits.

Thanks very much to everyone who offered to help troubleshoot or shared their positive experiences and encouragement. Unfortunately, this thread has run its course.
