I wonder if this thing could support an extended battery. I bet it would be more expensive than for Nexus S/GNex due to the screws & whatnot, but still should be possible, right? The current battery looks like it has a pretty large footprint, so I'd think an extended one wouldn't have to make the phone too much thicker.

i thought the same thing. I think you could definitely juice up the battery capacity and put a different backing on it similar to the g nex extended battery. will have to wait and see once it is announced

ok you guys got me there...on the technicality. No one is going to make an extended battery for it though. The better option for them, and I guess those that do not like to tinker (such as me) is one of those cases with the extended battery built in. I am actually a bit sad to see that there are not more of those for our phones already. I forget the biggie for the iPhone, but I thought they were coming out with one for the SGS3...

It'd be nice for this Nexus to have amazing battery life but I doubt it. The only reason I'm not sure if I'm going to switch to T-Mo for the Nexus is because the battery life of the Maxx HD is amazing.

Yea, fairly sure they make them for the S3. But I wouldn't want to go much bigger with this phone so idk about carrying one of these cases unless you don't charge every night.

It won't get anywhere near what the Maxx HD has. But imo it should last a full day. At least from the reviews I hear about the Optimus G.

possible we'll see something like this that you plug into the phone and slide into like a case.

Thats the company i was thinking of! Mophie. I thought they were doing something for the SGS3, but so far it is vaporware.

More and more, IF (and I hope not) companies move away from removable batteries we are going to see these kinds of things. not saying they are bad, just saying next year they may be common for those of use that do not want to go to the MAXX

The problem is that the iPhone is so prevalent, I'm not sure a company will make a speciality product like this for a niche phone.

Personally my battery life has been much improved over my GNex. I hit 4 hours screen on time one day and I've routinely gone over 24 hours without a charge. Usage from day to day and person to person varies, but I've been satisfied with the battery life I've seen. That being said, accessories to improve the device and give you options are always welcomed.

Your warranty will be voided if you do. It is not meant to be user replaceable.

I got myself one of these a while ago and love it. Perfect for when I go on trips. When I'm not traveling, i can always charge my phone in the car, or the work, so having an extended battery isn't an issue. This is very useful since I can also use it with my Nexus 7. I know it's not for everyone, but this might be a good alternative for some of you.

Those types of things (and the price drop of them) are the reason that I am softening my stance on non-removable batteries.

The two biggest I saw were made by Energizer OR Newtrent, who also makes excellent external batteries. from small to large. I bought both. very easy to carry Or use while at your house so the phone is full charge always when you take it out

Have you guys seen the rumors going around about a Zero Lemon extended battery? There are already placeholders for several cases up on Amazon already. Representatives said to expect a launch in early May. So... They should be up for sale soon. :) I'm excited to see what Zero Lemon is going to do with these cases! Check out their other products. You'd be excited too. :)
