I rooted this with Sons of Korhal got the superuser app but it does not give me access to the root I tried to run both wifi tether and adfree and both say no root access used connectbot it gives me the $ instead of the # tried using adb in command line but it told me not accessible.
So I unrooted and used gingersnap and still the same issue.
my phone is an LG Optimus s android 2.2.2 LS670ZVD
I have searched all over the net trying to solve this problem but yet to find a fix.

Ok I got ls -1 su
lrwxrwxrwx root shell 2011-11 14 22:05 su -> /system/xbin/su

I am testing it now

Wireless tether is still saying not root
Update 2 just ran root check and it says I dont have root access.
I am confused if I have superuser app I am rooted right?
man there has to be an easy fix to this.

IT is /system/xbin (not system/xbin)

If you are missing it, then that is your problem.

You should figure out why or get that fixed, but if you just want to get it working, try the ZVH rooting thread sticky (in my signature)

That one installs "su" in /system/bin and the /system/xbin is a symlink (mirrors what the su.zip install does) instead of the other way around, so would work in your situation.

.

You are the man your link worked. Thank you for your time and patience.
What would you recommend me to do to get rid of all this sprint crap thats on it?

I recommend you use Titanium to freeze things first (doesn't remove them) so if you later find you need it, can put it back easily.

Do them a couple at a time so you can tell which freeze broke something.

Also search for some list of apps to cleanup on google. There are lists but I forget where it has been so long.
