LG Tone+ Bluetooth headset HBS-730 microphone problem.

I have had DLG 730 Plus for almost 2 years with no problems. Now all of a sudden my microphone does not work. My earbuds work great but no one can hear me. And I am using the LG phone as well does not make a difference. What to do. Does anybody know a comparable headset like the LG.

I have been using LLama for a while and have not had any further problems with mic. I have it set to turn off the WiFi when I receive a call and the LG headset is connected. Then reverse that when the call is ended.

Not on an android, but having trouble getting this headset recognized. After going to tech support, they said it wasn't my phone or my bluetooth service, but rather the headset's problem. I think it lasted 30 days. Just enough so I can't return it. It IS a scam!

Welcome to the forums!
rdl1106, what is Llama, please?
Llama https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...pps/details?id=com.kebab.Llama&token=Vw1DaDjp is an app that allows you to automate tasks based on conditions (ex. turn off Wi-Fi if phone rings; turn on Wi-Fi when call is disconnected).

It doesn't require programming knowledge but if you're new to all of this it might be easiest to ask someone who has already automated a certain task to provide you the script they generated - that way you can see each of the steps involved.

Edit: it might be something like this

Those aren't links to external content - they're Llama profiles. You'd have to install Llama and then import them to make use of them.

I just purchased the TONE PRO Wireless headset and am having the same problem. I got my Galaxy S5 last Sunday and the headset today. I am sitting in one spot, not touching the phone or moving, and all of a sudden, the microphone stops working and I can still hear them. I have to call them back 8 times in 30 minutes to continue conversation or just take it off of Bluetooth.

What did you find out? Seems to me this Tone PRO is definitely defective, as I just got it today.

All of us who have this problem are frustrated with this. Neither LG nor the phone manufacturers believe it is their problem. Many of us have returned the "defective" headset only to find the replacement has the same problem. So what to do?
It looks to me like you have two choices:
- Return the headset and get something different (i.e. Don't use the tone any more)
- Turn off Wi-Fi when using the headset. (you can do this manually or get an app that will do it for you).

For me, I like the style of the Tone headset, so as posted earlier, I have installed Llama to automatically turn off Wi-Fi while I am in a call with the headset. Since then I have had NO microphone cut offs during a phone call when using the headset.

I have the LG Tone Pros 750 on a Moto X and have the same issue. I had the 730’s before this and the mic never cut out. My version is 4.4.2.
I have tried these on my son’s iPhone 5s and the mic cuts out there as well.

My friend however has a pair of the 750’s on a HTC One, and iPhone 5s and does not have this issue with the mic cutting out. I even hooked them up to my phone and they never cut out. So this is probably a LG issue and some of their products work when others don’t. Oh and my Tones mic did cut out on his phone too.

I have tried everything out there and the Tones are the only blue tooth I like with the kind of battery life I need. If my neck was not so big then Motorola’s version would be great.

so as posted earlier, I have installed Llama to automatically turn off Wi-Fi while I am in a call with the headset.
Perhaps you could post the profile (or script, or whatever you call it) from Llama that you're using so that others could benefit? I took a SWAG at it a couple of posts up but I have no clue how you're really using it.

I set up two new events in Llama. An event has conditions and then actions. My events say:

When "LG HBS800 is connected", and when "call state is in a call or ringing", - Disable WiFi.
When "LG HBS800 is connected", when "call state is not in a call" - enable WiFi.

The various choices are in drop down lists when you add the event.
I understand there are other apps that can do the same thing. If you want to keep using the Tone headset, then this has definitely worked for me to solve the mic problem without having to think about doing anything.
BTW, I am using a Verizon Droid Maxx.

That's all very well - I was asking you to post your actual scripts, so someone not familiar with all of this stuff could use them directly. Please see #65 for an example of what I mean.

Well I am one of those folks who is not familiar with all this stuff. I don't know anything about a "script". What I posted is what I did to get my tone to work. The "events" I posted are exactly what the Llama event says. I don't know how to do it any better than that.

Ah, sorry - you seemed to know your way around Llama.

In the EVENTS tab, long-press on one of the events you created, then select 'Share event'

then just paste from the Clipboard into your reply. Do this for each of the events you created, and separate them so that it's easy to read.

My problem exactly!! Same phone, same headset, same provider. No one can help. My husband has the same headset with no problem ever. this is frustrating, especially since I was trying to do an online WebEx interview and ended up holding a phone to my ear while trying to do a demonstration.

I'm trying the llama app but so far can't get it to actually perform the task. Have it set up to these parameters:
If in a call or
If phone rings
Turn off wifi
Have made a few test phone calls and wifi stays on. Will have to do further research or buy tasker... hestitant to buy tasker because I've read bad things about it lately.

Edit:
Changed the order and it worked fine. Here are rdl1106's instructions:
When "LG HBS800 is connected", and when "call state is in a call or ringing", - Disable WiFi.
When "LG HBS800 is connected", when "call state is not in a call" - enable WiFi.
Thanks!

I agree it is totally isolated to when I get home. I use my headset at work on my breaks to receive and make calls and it works just fine. I use it in my car too with no problems but as soon as I get home I notice that there is immediately a problem with the person on the other end hearing me even though I can still hear them just fine. I am told it seems as if I pushed the mute button even though the mute button is not on. I have found two ways to remedy this problem: The first method is to push the headset button on the phone and then the person on the other end is able to hear me again but only temporarily because a few minutes later like the other participants on this forum has notice the problem occurs again and I am not heard by the caller on the other end. The second method is to turn the wi-fi off on my phone and that basically resolves the problem. The only time I have noticed it happening again is if my wi-fi somehow automatically reconnects (which it sometimes does) but it appears to be a permanent fix and the other person can hear me on my HBS-750 headset while I am in my home just as long as my Wi-Fi is turned off. It makes me wonder the internet connection somehow interferes with the sound. As far as LG not caring about their customers I have to totally agree with those who have made that statement based on my own experience with them. I previously had an LG HBS-730 headset which I had no issues with whatsoever until it just randomly and completely stopped working for no apparent reason. It would no longer charge and I could not hear anything with the headset, it was completely dead. Fortunately it was still under the manufacturers warranty so I contacted LG by phone and was given a return authorization code and the address to send the headset in for a replacement. I sent that headset back with the proof of purchase from amazon, the authorization code written on the inside and outside of the package and I even paid extra postage for a signature to make sure the headset was documented as received by them. Approximately 3 weeks later I received an envelope from LG with a headset in it and a piece of paper with the return authorization code that I was given on the shipping paper next to it was a code of some sort and it simply read "returned no POP." I was very confused because I realized that the headset in the envelope was the same one that I had sent to be repaired still not working and no explanation as to why they had been returned. After calling LG and being put on hold for a long time it was explained to me that my headset was sent back due to no proof of purchase being given in the package I shipped back. To my frustration the proof of purchase I had sent in with the headset had somehow been lost or misplaced and as far as they were concerned never sent. I emailed another copy of the proof of purchase which I had originally sent with the headset to two different employees at LG and was finally given the approval to resend the headset that was never fixed but it had to be AT MY EXPENSE!!! So basically LG wants their customers to pay $8.50 and ship them back their defective product every time someone screws up and does not do their job!! So I totally agree they obviously do not care about their customers.
