LG V20 - Camera shots! Show us your pictures

I found with the variable nd filters you do get a weird color cast or vignetting depending on what setting you're on. The normal filters that are not variable work better in this regard. You just have to play around with them a little bit.

I wonder how many stops would be require to shoot long exposure in (sunny) daylight. 10 stops was not enough for even 5 seconds. I guess this is why having a f/1.8 is bad for long exposure during the day.

Yeah it really requires a lot for daytime long exposures. Multiple nd filters stacked on top of one another in fact.

One bag of heartburn but I just couldn't resist today. Let it burn baby.lol 🔥🔥

And suddenly, these things are popping up everywhere where there's trees. Its so strange to see this event unfolding right before our eyes especially when they are not even moving yet. Its like they're just sitting there waiting to finally come alive. The cicada cycle wasn't supposed to occur until 2021 but some broods may start 4 years early from what I've read. Anyway, here's these strange, scary noise making bugs ready to make people swing like Bruce Lee.lol

Nice! I found lots of their shed exoskeletons when I grew up in Texas, but never saw a live one. We just called them locusts.

We called them horseshoe flies down in SC but I've never seen the unfolding of them like this. Just the exoskeletons like you said. They feed on the roots of trees in 17 year cycles but sometimes some groups or broods surface 3-4 years early to reproduce. I'm curious to know how they even make it up from beneath the ground since they appear to be dead for days. I'll probably check it out on YouTube now.

That's what we call "cigarra" or "chicharra". I saw them when I was living in a city of the jungle. You don't want them inside of your house, hate the sound they make.

Ok cool. Yeah definitely not in the house. They are pretty big as well.

Took these after 3 in the morning. Left my mini tripod at home so I used the roof of the car to help me stabilize the shots. ISO: 50 SS: 3.2" Unedited. Manual focus. Love how these came out.

Used a variable ND filter for a 30 second shutter speed and edited some brightness.

My cats thought they were jungle cats tonight.

Edited in Snapseed.

Sing it with me now!

In the jungle, the mighty jungle...

Unedited long exposure from last night/early morning with variable nd filter with strength turned up quite a bit. ISO was set to 50 with a 30 second exposure. Manual focused on the close fence. Edited version in Lightroom Mobile. Luckily this one lone electrical truck passed by to give me the orange streaking lights you see in the image. Hardly any noise at all and no noise reduction in the edited image.
