Just got back from my Thailand trip! I took my V20 underwater with a waterproof case. I forgot to remove the screen lock and it was nearly impossible to unlock my phone and hit any of the keys underwater. I should have put it on auto before I went in. Here's a few seconds of clip.

Well I didn't expect to be losing this today. One less to deal with when I get my replacements I guess.

That's a whole front tooth by the way.

And this is why people complain about LG cameras in auto mode. They really need to at least improve auto settings and processing in dark and tricky situations. Auto vs manual with no edits.

Great comparison shots. I have said the same myself. If you just want point and shoot, then LG may not be for you. If you've willing to use manual, almost nothing can touch them.

Very interesting. I went ahead and installed the Google camera API on my V20 and it's apparent that LG just needs to fine tune their software. The hardware is very capable. I took two pictures in a situation where LG auto settings usually miss the mark and the Google camera totally presents a much better picture although with a slight bit more grain but look at the difference. I did not tap to focus on either shot and I turned HDR on in the stock camera app. The stock camera app overexposes the computer screen while the Google camera app maintains the highlights beautifully.

So for the first time I found an camera app outside of the stock camera app that I like and that would happen to be Google Camera. I really like the output it produces and the HDR+ processing is really just nice. These are all from the rear camera with no edits.

Which version are you using and what are your settings for the Google camera apk?

I'm not sure which version it is but I just use the normal HDR+ auto settings. I downloaded the APK off of Max Lee's YouTube video showing the differences the app made on the Note 8 and V30.
