LG V20 - Camera shots! Show us your pictures

I'm guessing you're doing manual mode?
You know what, I bet you are right. Here is another I took in manual

Can someone for the love tell me how to turn the flash while on auto? I get manual but if I want to force the flash on auto I've never been able to do it

There are actually three settings:

a) The lightning bolt with a line through it---off
b) The bolt with an "A" next to it--the camera will decide
c) The bolt all but itself

Just keep tapping that bolt icon on the screen to scroll through the choices.

That's the way my N7 did it. With the 20 though I don't have that option. The lightning bolt has a line going thru it but when I tap on it it doesn't activate. Now, in manual mode I get a lightning bolt, a bolt and a A, a bolt and a R then lightning bolt is off.

There's also a fourth setting called rear curtain sync, which is a lightning bolt with an "R" next to it. That's useful for trailing light effects and such.

In auto mode, the flash goes on auto too. I actually just used it last night, and the flash fired in auto even though the lightning bolt had the line through it.

The only way I know of to force the flash in a sort of auto mode is to switch to manual mode. With the AE-L button off and white balance/focus set to auto, the camera will still take pics with a tap like in auto mode. Only now you can force the different flash cycles.

You don't get flash options in auto. You're best bet is to go in manual with auto exposure on and let the camera pick all the settings for you.

Appreciate that. I was hoping it was a fluke but unfortunately it doesn't seem that way now. I own a service based co and for a ex I was attempting to photo the inside of a Venting system yesterday but it wouldn't flash in auto in a completely dark environment but then I put it in manual and the exposure was way off and it came out white

Yeah you have to remember to hit that AE-L button so the camera will expose correctly. Otherwise it will use whatever shutter speed and ISO settings you last used which is great but not always when you forget to change it back.

Great information that I didn't know. Thanks

You get flash in auto if your phone isn't set to HDR. I have my auto on full auto. Auto HDR auto flash.. it does it when the censors sees fit.

And again something new. Cool.👍

Edit: just turned HDR to auto and you are correct.

Maybe I'm missing something--I usually am auto. But I never have had the flash go off if the bolt has the line through it.

I think I was mistaken. As was pointed out after that post, HDR has to be on auto or off for flash in auto mode.

So I haven't had a good shooting day in a while but boy oh boy was today absolutely beautiful and I went out with my son to the park. Just a few unedited JPEGS and I'll post the edited RAW shots later. I can't believe some of these shots.
