Happy New Year!

I love these Applights. Kind of hard to capture it in a photo, but I have them sparkling for the night. Btw, Home Depot has them 75% off on their website right now. 1231171815.jpg

I just may get out in the cold a little bit now. Found some nice warm gloves with the touch compatible index and thumb finger sections so I can shoot without having to remove my gloves now. Plus I can always use voice commands for the shutter.

Happy New Year!! Pulled all my card games on this one. ND Filter, Lightroom and photoshop.

Last video project of 2017. Looking to finally get a DJOsmo Mobile gymbal this year for more dramatic shots.

You have steady hands! My last video came out shaky & wobbly as I was walking and recording. If I stand still, the video quality is great. I wonder how much a gimbal would help.

Ha thanks. I do have steady hands but the trick is to record video regularly and then process it in Google Photos and select the stabilize option. It works wonders even for 4k video which I shot in. I am getting a gimbal this year though.

Getting an error when trying to add photos saying this thread has "disabled media sharing. "

I didn't even think about adding stabilization in the software. I will try this next time.

Here's my latest video with walking, water, wind factor, all shot in 1080. :)

I can see what you mean. There's definitely some shaky footage in there. Was Steady Record turned on? Turning it off improves the stabilization by a good margin. Anyway, if you still have some of those videos try and run them through the Photos stabilize setting and see the difference. Also where are you located or do you just travel a lot? A lot of exotic places you've been to.

I have Steady Record kept off. I will have to try Photos stabilize when I get a chance. I wonder if the V30 or newer phones have this problem or getting a gimbal is the way to go.

I live in NY but I've also worked in South Korea. I enjoy traveling.

If money isn't an option, a true gimbal is the best way to go. The optical stabilization in the phones is very limited simply due to the space the sensor uses. Digital stabilizing will start cutting off parts of the video, potentially hurting the final product (I.e. Cutting off the top of someone's head because it was close to the edge of the frame).

Most LG phones have this issue. The OIS on Samsung, iPhones and the Pixel 2 are considerably ahead. But a gimbal will remedy any phone's stabilization except when the OIS counteracts with the gimbal itself. I know some phones have had that issue in certain shooting modes.
