My problem is I have a live wallpaper, but as soon as I "unlock" the phone (using the onscreen lock), it reverts to the basic screen.

PS I'm using 2.1 and Panda Home.

Okay as I stated earlier my problem with live wallpapers is coming from handcent I just tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it but when I get a message popup and am typing a reply, the keyboard disapears when this happens the live wallpaper goes away and the old static image shows back up. Anyone else seeing this?

I have the issue with starfield or whatever it is called stock ones work fine for me

I had the same problem with Starfield. It's unfortunate too, because I really liked it, but it would freeze up at least once a day, so I deleted it. Haven't had any problem with any of the stock ones, just downloaded live wallpapers. I deleted a lot of apps that I wasn't really using which may have helped a little as well.

No problem with Handcent/stock live wallpapers. Will start looking for 3rd party wallpapers and try them out, though, and see what happens.

i am not so much a problem but the live wallpaper goes away when the handcent pop up text came up then went back live wallpaper when pop up was gone

Handcent updated the other day and I haven't had any problems since. That must have been the problem.

I'm using 2.1 and Helixlauncher, and with live wallpapers on I notice switching between homescreens and browsing apps in the launcher can get pretty laggy. Anyone else notice this?

Even if I use the home launcher with live wallpapers the launcher is slow and laggy.

This is to be expected, especially if your live wallpaper is doing any heavy processing.

FYI, overclocking helps, but might be a double whammy on the battery along with the live wallpaper. I usually run at 800MHz (stock is 550MHz) without noticeable battery drain, though. Requires a rooted (hacked) phone and installation of a custom ROM or kernel.

oh, yeah

I haven't had a single problem with any of them...I use handcent w/ pop-ups and advanced task manager. My favorite live wallpaper is LOGCAT. Its by far the best. I also use Helix

I curse myself for not having any programming talent. I've got ideas, just no ability to realize them. For example, I'd love to see an aquarium type background with a tap of the screen dropping food. I know it can be done because the live seed (yes, I bought the sperm paper and it rocks) is very close to that.

try dropping the panda and using helix launcher instead. You can have up to 7 screens and it is much quicker than Panda

I believe it is Handcent messing with the live wallpaper even after the latest update from Handcent my live wallpaper disappears after a pop up. . .
