Can someone explain why people report their location in these posts. From what I've heard, location has nothing to do with rolling it out.
Got mine yesterday. No reset and all is working fine. No real difference or improvement over Kit-Kat. Except that the lock screen doesn't function as GOOD as it did with Kit-Kat. So in my opinion this is a step backwards. Not talking about the notifications, just the overall function of having to swipe up BEFORE putting in you method to unlock the phone. Stupid extra step especially if you have all notifications turned off for the lock screen. Also, turning on trusted locations does not work at all. I added my home for that. And when I try to use facial recognition it just force closes with a "Google Play Services" has stopped unexpectedly?? It was a major pain figuring out how to completely stop using any lock screen at all. Stupid Lollipop.
I thought you could disable that extra step on lollipop, but when I just looked I couldnt find it. interesting. Doesnt really affect me, but I can see how that would be frustrating.
What does affect me is the removal of lock screen widgets and that one really sucks. I used a flashlight widget on my lock screen and I hate that I cant have that anymore.
A few months at least :/Sense 7 is going to bring a Flashlight to the quick toggles, so that'll help. Of course, Sense 7 is a few months out from us.
A few months at least :/
No matter how many times people are told that, they still think it's important. So I've just stopped telling them.
Coming from previous phones that were all rooted, it is basically required to do a full wipe (reset) when upgrading or changing roms. I have done it before without, but 90% of the time end up with issues that make me do a reset.
With this phone, I haven't rooted it, so when I update to 5.0, I'll probably give it a week and see if there are any issues. With the first update verizon pushed out, I didn't notice any issues. But with the last one, I have noticed the phone is a bit sluggish. I've just been holding out for this update before I take the time to reset.
But anyway, what I'm getting at is that a reset SHOULD be done with every update. It will give the phone and apps a clean slate. But I would say give it a try without it if you don't have the time.
