lollipop for Verizon model, anyone get it yet?

Installed without a reset, seems to be running perfectly fine.

Can someone explain why people report their location in these posts. From what I've heard, location has nothing to do with rolling it out.

I am in Charlotte NC and got mine about noon yesterday. I wiped the phone first then downloaded and updated it. I have everything back and i am very happy with how it is running so far.

No matter how many times people are told that, they still think it's important. So I've just stopped telling them.

Got mine yesterday. No reset and all is working fine. No real difference or improvement over Kit-Kat. Except that the lock screen doesn't function as GOOD as it did with Kit-Kat. So in my opinion this is a step backwards. Not talking about the notifications, just the overall function of having to swipe up BEFORE putting in you method to unlock the phone. Stupid extra step especially if you have all notifications turned off for the lock screen. Also, turning on trusted locations does not work at all. I added my home for that. And when I try to use facial recognition it just force closes with a "Google Play Services" has stopped unexpectedly?? It was a major pain figuring out how to completely stop using any lock screen at all. Stupid Lollipop.

I thought you could disable that extra step on lollipop, but when I just looked I couldnt find it. interesting. Doesnt really affect me, but I can see how that would be frustrating.

What does affect me is the removal of lock screen widgets and that one really sucks. I used a flashlight widget on my lock screen and I hate that I cant have that anymore.

Sense 7 is going to bring a Flashlight to the quick toggles, so that'll help. Of course, Sense 7 is a few months out from us.

A few months at least :/

It took about 2-3 months after the M8 was released for the carrier versions of the M7 to get Sense 6. So that's what I'm expecting for the M8 to get Sense 7.

I don't think it would've been too hard for HTC to throw a flashlight toggle in there with this release, so I'm not sure why they didn't.

Coming from previous phones that were all rooted, it is basically required to do a full wipe (reset) when upgrading or changing roms. I have done it before without, but 90% of the time end up with issues that make me do a reset.

With this phone, I haven't rooted it, so when I update to 5.0, I'll probably give it a week and see if there are any issues. With the first update verizon pushed out, I didn't notice any issues. But with the last one, I have noticed the phone is a bit sluggish. I've just been holding out for this update before I take the time to reset.

But anyway, what I'm getting at is that a reset SHOULD be done with every update. It will give the phone and apps a clean slate. But I would say give it a try without it if you don't have the time.

If you decide to root and install a new ROM, I highly recommend the ViperOne ROM from VenomROMs. It's Sense based (not Google Play Edition like most Lollipop ROMs) and supports all carriers. I'm running it now on a VZW M8 and I'm loving it.

Okay, my wifi dropping out at work is making me nuts. Every time I turn the screen on I have the notification that is is "connected to XXXX wifi". EVERY. TIME. On top of that, I am pretty sure that is also in turn causing issues with email sync, as my phone will just randomly decide it doesn't want any of my work emails to get to me. Turning off my wifi fixes that issue immediately.

Both of these issues were present in stock lollipop, and now I'm experiencing them with this update. At first it didn't really seem to be that bad, but after yesterday and today I'm quickly realizing that it really is that freakin bad.
