Losing Interest In 3 XL

I thought the post was more about was lower than the $1000 price of the Note 9 and Apple X line.

It is premium phone pricing ... because it is a premium phone. Why would it be lower? Or is this the, only the hardware/bom should count in discussions of device pricing?

No dispute from me... I consider the Pixel top notch. It performs without the bells and whistles. Other phones in this price range use these as a crutch.

It definitely should be lower Price than that. The 3XL should be priced lower than other flagships given the specs.
Yeah, this is just a foolish comment. If all we're paying for is the spec sheet then there is no purpose for Apple or Google anywhere in the high end space of any of the markets they compete in. Yet they're making the best devices available in that space, consistently. There is MUCH more to device quality than just trying to out 'Samsung' Samsung.

Is it so hard to understand that specs is the only thing Samsung has available to compete with, in order to force themselves into the high end space, a place where due to their total ineptitude in the other areas of quality, they were never considered to belong until very recently? What'd they change? They worked with Google on fixing their software, they adopted Apple's design principles and in a large way their marketing. They started supporting their devices better, like Google and Apple. The keys to Samsung being able to rise above just being high spec garbage was to fix their polish, software and support.

Samsung has still have a long ways to go, but the progress they've made since the S7 is the reason they're up there, not just spec slutting. There are plenty of OEMs that can play the spec game, Huawei, Xiaomi, LG, etc and they are always going to be relegated to a second tier until they adopt what the masses, the people, actually want. And that's something you can't find on a spec sheet.

Specs <> Quality. Quality = Quality and can be accomplished with or without the "best specs". The Moto X 2013 was definitely a contender, among nearly all reviewers, for the best phone of 2013. It was far from the best spec'd. The first Pixel was definitely a contender for the best phone of 2016 despite being less spec'd than its rivals. I'm skipping years but the same thing is true in every single year from 2010 until 2017 and there's very little reason to expect an upset to the pattern has occurred in 2018.

Also "loosing interest" seems to mean something like unleashing or releasing interest. Didn't the title originally say "losing interest"? Can I start a conspiracy theory about mods changing thread titles from correct to incorrect?

I was interested.
But, if the leaks are true, it's just as basic and boring as the 2XL. Pass.

I may have misspelled it.... Not sure. But I wouldn't put it past Almieut to me with me. Lol

Im assuming you mean just Verizon. Because sprint is hardly a great carrier. Also is ATT not a real carrier? Such a Silly statement.

Anyway, I don’t think I’m going to get the XL anymore but I am interested in seeing more on the regular sized 3. Surprised there have been no leaks. Guess because more people are interested in big phones?

I guess that depends where you are. The closest Sprint tower to me is over 100 miles away. And AT&T is practically identical to Verizon in terms of cost, but in my area has spotty coverage.

As for the 6T, while I know the arguments about not offering CDMA because you'd have to include more hardware to make it happen. But, there's no reason they couldn't include Verizon's LTE bands. From the rumors Verizon is already on the way to discontinuing their CDMA network. For example, they no longer allow you to activate 3G devices on their network, so if you have one and switch to an LTE device and decide to go back to your old one, you're out of luck. And it wouldn't be the first device to be LTE only on Verizon either. HTC did it first with their One a9, and some are even doing LTE only with some flip phones. So there's no reason for OnePlus to not offer Verizon's LTE bands.

Besides, once Verizon drops their CDMA network, it won't be any different than it is now. OnePlus would still have to offer LTE in those frequencies that they currently do not. Unless they don't plan to ever offer phones on Verizon, which from a business standpoint is stupid considering they'd be losing out on supplying products to half of the US market.

Xl3 is really uninspiring to me, wanted to try it but I'll get the Mate 20 Pro instead.

Mebbe this'll put the lead back in some of yer pencils!

https://www.xda-developers.com/google-assistant-google-pixel-3-pixel-stand/

Is it a phone? Is it a smart display? Phone? Smart display? Phone? Smart display?

And if this alleged dock/stand is also a wireless charger, it's not gonna be much use for either Pixel 2.

Yah it's supposed to be the phone UI when docked on the Pixel Stand.

Pretty good imo. Has some functional benefits while on the stand charging. Great benefit to wireless charging.

OnePlus 6T will, out later.
T-Mobile isn't a "real carrier network" ...?
If it guys Sprint it will be for sure. I think what he meant was that the OnePlus phones don't work for over 50% of consumers in the US and so far, hopefully soon to change, hasn't been available from any carriers.

If you read the posts before and after you'll get that was a banterous exchange between @mustang7757 and myself. We kid each other alot.

Funny coincidence though.... Today I had to lend my phone to a friend visiting me in NYC from Atlanta GA. and she was on TMobile and couldn't get a signal.

Oh - lol.

I won't dispute that Verizon has been, all things considered, the best carrier for basically the entire smartphone era, but T-Mobile has been incredible inroads over the years... and is much, much faster than Verizon (both 700mhz A vs B block and especially 1900mhz when it picks it up) where I live.

Hey Guys,
So is anyone else loosing interest in the Pixel 3 XL? I know I sure am.

I was gonna wait for the official releases of the iPhone and Pixel 3XL.

After the seeing nothing but notches, I decided to pull the trigger on the Note 9 earlier than initially planned.

Happy I did, guess you can say I'm a Note type of guy.
