Losing Interest In 3 XL

I'm watching and reading about how this notch 3XL can be Google just playing with us and I really hope that's true.

Nah, not buying it.

1. I don't think Google would deliberately make dummy, very ugly phones to dupe people. Doubt the marketing team would want word to go out that the phone has an ugly big notch when it doesn't really have one.

2. If there was a *real* Pixel 3 XL that doesn't have a notch, it would have leaked by now. Every major phone gets leaked well in advance, but somehow Google kept this super secret deisgn from being leaked? Yeah right.

3. If this guy didn't sign an NDA, then why doesn't he just tell us what clip from what video was requested by Google?

I think Google might be taking clips from YouTubers who are saying the phone is ugly and might just have a joke/laugh with it. Saying 'we've heard the comments' but then explain why they decided to go with the deep notch design. Probably for the super selfies.

I look at it this way , for a phone to be considered best it has to win in areas like Screen, Aesthetics, battery, software experience and there are other phones that do that better it's the overall experience and what u get for your money ..Google hasn't got down the hardware part yet and to me looks like they are confused which way to go . Does that make it a bad phone , No way.. it's just not a complete phone

Ok so no phone have ever been the best and the closest to "winning" would be the iPhone X. All Samsung phones fail on aesthetics and software, all LG phones fail on aesthetics, software and display, etc. Pixels are losing only on display, and only because of the "blue shift" thing. It's still accurate af, but shifts more than the Note 9 and iPhone X.

I don't think I'd agree those are the top 4 categories, or that those categories are equal, but I do agree that those are 4 that are important to me. I'd probably add security, control over privacy, audio, support (quality and longevity), camera - maybe making 9 categories. And when I put all 9 categories into the mix, I get one clear winner in Android and one clear winner in iOS.

I can agree with most but Samsung Isn't losing in aesthetics or software unless you mean getting OS updates fast but for user experience it's not laggy and fast and the other category you mentioned I put that into overall experience on device and agree with those ....to me iPhone x and note9 is 2 most complete device you can buy
My pix dont have that bad of a blue shift
But I like your point of view and anyone else that chimes in

I just threw these together and I'm willing to defend any of the individual ratings, but not overly in love with most of it. I think Samsung makes great devices compared to most of Android, but I think they miss on too many critical areas for me personally.

non weighted.jpg

This is simply ranking each OEM on their recent flagship phones and adding them together. I personally would weight certain categories over others. As an example, for my usage, the privacy and security scores are worth much more than display and audio, given that there haven't been any bad flagship displays for a couple years - so I would register a condition with that weighting that all scores are over 4 across the OEM's. If we did my ranking for my personal usage it'd probably be 50, 90, 95, 25, 0, 0, 0.

That's generally how I think about these things, and as you can see I have Samsung right on the heels of Google and Apple, and Samsung is closer to the top than the other OEM's are to them.

Interesting scores ..but I usually go by proving grounds as in feel for my self hands on type I'd score it differently , but there are also other variables like up load speeds and downloads and signal strength which Sammy is high in those regards

the other thing is Google needs to put more options in the AOD and need schedule option as well

Mike i see you hanging around the the Samsung forums, be care careful in there 😂😂😂 they love their Samsung

As they should. If spend your money you should always try to enjoy it or get rid of that which you don't enjoy.

Im OK in their as I do not practice the art of phone bashing but I will state why I won't buy something.

Disclaimer: I might on occasion make fun of your carrier or your home state for well established reasons.
