Losing Interest In 3 XL

the majority don't like the huge screen eating notch on the 3xl. Folks liked the 2xl with minimal bezels, front firing speakers, and a very reasonable screen to body ratio....... without the ridiculously large notch.

Majority, highly debatable. But that's besides the point. The same people that are saying the notch is "huge" are the same people saying that the 2XL bezels are minimal and acceptable.

The notch appears to be the same damn size as the 2xl bezel, except with screen on the outer 2/3.

So which is it? Do we have outrageously world ending bezels? Or do we have minimal?

Side note, can't wait to see how many refuse to buy the new iPhones because of their gigantic notch. Clearly, they are not in tune with what the market wants either.

Exactly....all that's happening is any sensor to the left or right is being shifted to join the sensor already in the middle and notifications being moved up. In addition if you disable the notch it will look like what the 2XL looks like now.

It's a very large notch and very large bottom bezel.

I thought the P2XL had relatively large bezels for a 18:9 phone compared to 2017 flagships and I think the P3XL has an exceptionally large notch and bottom bezel compared to 2018 flagships.

It's the depth of the notch that puts me and I think others off. It looks comically large and to think that it's that big for super selfies suggests to me I'm not the crowd Google is targeting with the phone. They're targeting the selfie-taking Instagram users.

Again....if they're indeed the same size, why is the 2XL "relatively large" and the 3XL comically large?

Because the year changed. The thing that I keep repeating, that I don't get, is this... the 2 XL is great, the 3 XL is better in almost every way (can't forget the 2% reduction in battery capacity) - why is the 3 XL terrible when it's the same phone with more screen real estate, wireless charging and an updated processor?

How are they not in touch with their customer base?
I have seen no evidence for or against that what they are putting out is out of alignment with what Pixel owners expect.

Been staying away from this forum then, I guess :D

But the forums in no way represent what pixel owners as a population want, or expect.
On the contrary, I think they do more so for the Pixels than, say, for Galaxy phones or other popular phones. We're all a bunch of geeks here, but I would guess a high % of Nexus/Pixel owners are phone nerds - and many are not of course.

You must not have read the entire thread to come to that conclusion. My presence here is pretty obvious.

I was responding to a post being presented as factual while actually based on opinion.

Proportionally that's probably true, but even if there are 10,000 Pixel owners active in the forums, which is a number I chose because of how ridiculously over the real number it is... 10,000 is still far less than 1% of Pixel owners. It's less than a 5th of a percent, and that's still using a number intended to inflate the weight of our comments. The real number is probably closer to 1,000-2,500 meaning that we're talking about somewhere between 1/20 and 1/50 of 1% of users. Yes, that's bigger than our relative impact to the Sammy or Apple communities. But it's still so miniscule as to be laughable as any sort of a representative force.

LOL. You are a pip. I love your statistical replies. Analytical thinking is great.

In this case though, just because the number of people in the forum may be numerically small, that doesn't mean it isn't representative of the Pixel population. You may disagree, but I bet it's pretty representative, compared to other phones ..

Too many variables to draw valid conclusions no matter how we spin it.

if I may interrupt, which should I have for lunch Tuna or Turkey with everything on it ?😂😂😊
come on guy's we beat this thread up about the topic

Sure, no one is complaining about the 3 XL .. :-) No evidence of that :-)

Your response has nothing to do with I said. I was referring to your comments with regard to this forum being an accurate representative sample. I never said that no one's complaining about the 3XL and I never will. Is there a phone that no one ever complains about?

Neither....Prociutto with fresh mozzarella and roasted peppers with a toss of oregano and a splash of balsamic dressing.
