Lost data contacts and calendar

[Android Central Question]

For the last couple of weeks, my cellphone had problems syncing with Gmail. It could go for a couple of days with no sync.

Now, it's worse, or simply dead. See image in link. I don't have the calendar and contact options in the Google Account setup on the phone. I removed the gmail account several times, rebooted, installed, reinstalled the account. Nothing works. I hope you can tell me how to fix that. FYI, all my contacts and events are just fine in Gmail.com

Welcome to Android Central! Is that your primary Google account on the phone, or is there some other Google account synced as well?

Which phone do you have?

It is my main account. I removed the other gmail account that was installed. By the way, I had the same issue with that second account after reinstall.
Right now, only that account is in the phone.

Have you disabled any system apps in Settings>Apps​?

Yes, but none related to Google (Instagram, Hangout, Quickremote...)

Just to be sure, go to Settings>Apps, tap Menu, then Reset All App Preferences (which will re-enable any disabled app). Then try removing your Google account, and then adding it back again.

Just did what you recommended. The recreated account is set like to one in the file I attached earlier. In other words, no change.

Correction. It looks like the contacts are being downloaded. I'll confirm a little later if everything is ok. I can breathe a little better now ;-)
