LTE Doesn't Work on my Samsung Galaxy Note 3

I believe I've uncovered the reason for your lack of LTE. I noticed your box supports only Band 4 LTE which is predominantly a band found in Canada, South America, and USA LTE bands (however USA carriers lock their LTE bands so only their branded device have access). My guess is you purchased a Canadian 9005 model which would make sense given the Band 4 LTE support. When you see the picture of the other 9005 LTE model posted by the other member in this forum post, that model supports more bands of LTE that are more common around the European and Asian markets. Though it's a LTE 9005 model it only supports band 4, which the UK and most of Europe and Asia do not, so you won't gain LTE on your device. You can check out what countries support what LTE band here:

Hope this helps, and I hope you can come about getting the correct device.

Is there any app to test in which frequency are the signal being broadcasted, and another to show me the supported frequencies on my device?

Sorry I don't know any apps like that. But I do know you won't find Band 4 LTE in the UK sadly. The best the device will support is H/H+ speeds.

Good find! This is most likely your reason for no LTE Kyo.

Apologies. Mixed up the people who posted which boxes. 3, 7, and 20 are UK based bands. So it is weird. Only conclusions there after would be what bands the carrier is using, if it's a locked band, or is the plan the SIM is using rated for LTE. I would not wanna jump to any conclusion on a cloned device. The list shows carriers so I'd say to have anyone match the supported band to their carrier. Also, if it's a 3rd party, be sure to know which main carrier towers they are piggybacking off of.

First you would have to be in range of an lte tower.

And yes, some mvno will not support 4GLTE, even if the network does.

It is possible that it is a real 9005 but not 4glte capable, then put into a 4GLTE box

Yeah. Let's hope a device switch wasn't the case here.

Well, the fact that he doesn't have an lte option in the network settings is not a good sign.

Guys when I first got my note3 from the three network UK on contract it also did not have the lte options in settings. A couple of months ago three must have done an update to my phone or sim as the lte option just appeared in the network settings. I'm wondering if this is what has happened to you?

Maybe not, I have a Verizon note 3 900V, am using it in Guam and although my carrier currently has 4G on one of their phone, it doesn't show up on mine either.

I have the Note 3 on Verizon - the Rose Gold version - and my signal is often very weak. Often 2 bars on wifi (sometimes 3). It never goes to 4G/4GLTE. Now I know there are pockets in my area that are 3G but for the most part they are all 4G/4GLTE. (The 3G are kind of in the valleys, etc...).

However my phone never sees 4G/4GLTE. I've had a Verizon exec try to look at the phone and they couldn't change it. Tried replacing the sim cards. Did nothing.

They've sent me a replacement one - albeit gray/black now, (I really wanted the rose gold/white one I have - but apparently that was a limited time thing).

Do you all have any advice that I could try to see if it works before I activated the gray/black one?

Dear, i am facing the same issue with my note 3, it does not show LTE option under Mobile Networks but it does have LTE option in APN under the tab bearer type ... is that sth to do with ???

Do you have lte enabled in mobile networks?

I have had the CDMA/LTE/EVDO checked off. That kept me at 3G. So I moved it to Global thinking it would change.

Nothing.

On top of that, I put "allow roaming" as VZW told me to - as I don't travel outside the USA.

You can clear cache in recovery and do a factory data reset.

have you got it working yet? i might have the answer your looking for.

a little background info before i get started to stop any bickering. I got my phone in hong kong from PCCW in Nov (respectable). I got my other half same phone, same shop a week later.

6 months later we're now back in the UK. Ive just switched over from t-mobile to the 3 network. My other half was already on the 3 network. Today i noticed it didnt have a good signal so i went to the setting and saw that i was on LTE mode. At the same time i picked my other halfs up and noticed she had better signal than me, checked her setting and noticed she wasnt on LTE mode but on the HPDA mode. I tried to change hers to the LTE mode and like you guys noticed there wasnt that option.

Thats when i searched online and came across this posting ans read all three pages.

I tried all sorts and nothing happened. Then i did the simpliest of all things..... i took out my sim card and put it in her phone.

Went into settings and .............. guess what the LTE option came up. So off i went to tell other half....... its your Sim card!!!!! Showed her proof that the option was there.

Then i took my card out and put hers back in........ and guess what........ Sometimes there is just no answer........... but the most oddest things happened....... her phone is now LTE compact able. That LTE option stayed.

So here is the answer........ no rip off phone...... no band 4...... not cause it was from hong kong........ just plain and simple get a working 4g simcard put it in your phone and hey presto...... it works and fixes everything

After being without LTE for months I come across pobox557's post.

I put another SIM in my Note 3 (the other SIM had never even been connected to 4G before), checked and LTE was there for me to select for the first time.

I took the SIM out, put my own SIM back in and LTE remained there.

You've been a great help pobox557, thank you!
