I think, in a way, it is. HTC wanted to get it out to honor their 90-day guarantee. I think we'll see the finished product when the M9 and Sense 7 are announced.

I get the same stutter in the UI. The screen momentarily freezes and then continues to scroll.
Have you guys with the stutter problems done a factory reset or reset the cache partition? Just wondering if it makes any difference.
I'm on a 3 branded handset in the UK so I'm probably a long way from receiving it but I intend to factory reset and start over when I do

Cleared cache part still existed.
Factory Reset after the OTA still existed.
Then reset device using RUU still existed.
Oh there is a weird issue with Battery Usage information it will only show things like Android OS or nothing at all
.Also under software information it Shows HTC SDK API level as unknown.

I have to admit I am not too keen on getting Lollipop, or ART for that matter! I have been reading around the WEB and there are still some major and minor bugs that need to be worked out completely before I make the leap. Right now my M8 is running like no other phone I have ever had before. In other words it is running great! I use and need this thing to run great every day. In fact, I have not updated any of my Google Apps (like Gmail, Maps, and ESPECIALLY Calendar) because the updates to Material Design STINK in my opinion. So, if the Lollipop update reflects this candy-cane look and feel, with the same performance as the updated apps...then I do not want it or ART at all. I am tired of updates making my expensive phone not work as well as it did out of the box. My greatest fear is that if I take the upgrade that it will automatically upgrade my other Google apps and then I will not be able to go back to earlier versions, even though the APK's are available for older versions. My $0.02
That page isn't accurate at all. Still says integration for 3 yet 4.4.4 was released on their network ages ago!

Personally I can't stand the new navbar. Triangle, circle, square make no intuitive sense. I am not an iPhone user. I have not had a Playstation since the PS2. What I am is a guy who owns about a dozen Android devices, all of which use the same navbar. I like that they use the same navbar. Now I have to either backup, reset to factory default and then follow the upgrade path shy of Lollipop, or root the device and hack the old navbar back in. Because I am certainly not going to upgrade every other device I have to get a consistent UI back--this one nearly bricked my Nexus 7 with all the 3D animation garbage. Both are a pain in my *** that I really resent having to do for a thing that my kids do their homework on or I casually pick up as a second screen, just because Google hired a bunch of ex-Microsoft Win8 UI designers who want to get cute. Fire those guys wholesale and go back to the previous team. I didn't get mad when Google killed Gears (after I spent all that time finding 3rd party widgets I liked) and killing Glass last week made me raise an eyebrow, but this one has me cussing so much my wife took the kids to the other part of the house. Is this a harbinger of things to come for Google?

Not looking forward to L.. Have had a play on my wife's nexus device and a lot of it just seems to be change for the sake of change.. Kinda like when you walk into the supermarket and they have moved all the items to different aisles and you no longer know where anything is.
Also, in design terms, I'm not a fan of the whole minimalist thing. I really liked the original versions of android (2.0 etc) where you have 3d or animated icons/widges .. It feels like we have gone backwards.

Personally I really like lollipop despite its bugs and can't wait for it to come to my 3 branded handset in the uk. I actually started using my nexus 5 again when it got lollipop and really liked it, almost sold my one m8. After a while though the build quality, battery life, speakers etc brought me back to the one but I do miss lollipop. I have it on my nexus 10 too and I like it.

I had to go back and do a reset for it to work ok. Still occasional stutters but not too bad.

I did a full wipe before and after I installed. It runs very smoothly. Here are my observations:
- I like how HTC added some of the cool animations, but not all of them. I think some of stock Lollipop's animations are a bit over-the-top anyway.
- My favorite feature from the Moto X, Trusted Devices, is finally on my One M8 (in the form of Smart Lock). Thanks, Google!!! This alone makes Lollipop worth it to me.
- This may just be the custom ROM I'm on, but an icon doesn't pop up for every little thing (like NFC) on the status bar.
- You can switch between the card view and the grid view for multitasking. However, the old grid view is kind of glitchy when you open an app from it. The status bar goes wonky for a millisecond. Anyone else notice this? It's annoying enough that I use the card view instead.

Even with the stock (unlocked version), there is this "wonky" status bar, and the reason is that GRID view runs with the status bar (notification bar) off, and has since kitcat, but each app may or may not have a status bar, so it gets displayed, and then may or may not get removed, depending on the app involved. So Its not a bug, or even wonky, its a side effect of adding the ability to hide the the notification panel.

Because ANNYONE can disable screen pinning. It tells you how every time you touch Home or Back.

Confirmed, its your rom.
My non-carrier phone still shows NFC icon in notification bar when nfc is on.
