Mark Bencze Premium Themes Showcase - One stop for all my V20 designs

I have the remix and material dark themes and I've noticed no difference in battery life. Material dark is awesome I'm still hoping for a material light as well.

I can also say material dark has not had any effect on battery life.

Google gives you what, 15 min to claim a refund after installation? Hardly enough time to judge something such as excessive battery drain on an app like this. So it's understandable to be frustrated by this particular situation.
It's frustrating to get something for free?

And I believe Google bumped the refund window to 2 hours.

Not as frustrating as doing surveys for nothing because what you earned isn't working out.

I personally haven't tried any extra themes, but I'm tempted for a couple of these. So I don't really have a dog in this fight and just looking at it from both sides. If you got a free Christmas gift, wouldn't you be upset if it didn't work and you had no way to return/exchange it? It's the same principle.

If a $1.49 Xmas gift didn't work, I probably wouldn't worry about it...at all.

I probably have 25-30 paid apps in my play store history that I don't even use anymore, some I never used or didn't like. All paid for with surveys. So all free for me. The dev gets supported.

Do people use everything they buy to it's full potential to justify the cost? Not even close.

Again, I don't have credit cards....I am not working due to spinal issues. I'm getting a neck x-ray as I type this in fact.

Some people don't have access to funds to get what ever they want when they want it.

People use coupons in stores to save 25 cents. Just think if you had a coupon that was $1.49 off an item....

I want my $1.49 refund from the developer now as per Google suggested.... Thank you.

Again, I don't like it, it affects my battery life and I want my money back to get another app I will use.
I use my phone a lot in a day and I need as much battery life as I can get. I'm very particular of what apps I use if it affects my battery life.

So let's see if the developer is kool enough to give me a refund.

I used to make Wallpaper on Zedge back in the day. I even had many in the top 5. I never charged for a single one and I put a lot of time into creating them in Photoshop.

Thank you Mooncatt for your support.

With vector installed... Theme is at the top of the list

The dev usually is on here a lot and replies. I wonder if he saw this and is considering my refund?

How do you know it's his theme causing the battery drain and not the LG theme engine itself? Myself and others from the thread you referenced earlier experienced reduced battery life from the High Contrast Black theme which was free from LG Smart world.

And if you had paid with real money then I would understand your point 100%. But you essentially paid with monopoly money on your end after filling out a couple surveys.

I have a routine I go through on my phone. Check this, check that etc etc. I know what the battery percentage goes down doing this. It was more with the theme. Also more on idle too. Plus I don't like the icons. They don't match any of the ones I like our use. So that alone nulls it for me.

Not really. Whether it's money, credits or tokens. It still allowed you to purchase something. If you don't like it or want it and don't get reimbursed you lose The funds. If you get a credit or refund, you can use it towards something else. Pretty simple actually.

I can also tell you, if I had the ability to make these themes, I would not be charging for them, but thats just me. And if I did charge and someone didn't like it [not even of they had problems... But if they just didn't like it]. I would give them a refund... That's just good business... PERIOD.

The icons could have been snuffed out within the refund window pretty easily.

Have you tried other free LG themes to compare? Like I said, I tried the High Contrast theme and noticed reduced battery life so the issue could be the theme engine, not the themes.

Ahhh, I see what you mean. The engine that runs all the themes. Good point. Do you think that would still affect the stock theme? Curious now?

As far as the icons being snuffed out right away...I changed the main icons with the built in feature immediately. It was fine until I later noticed the second screen forced the vector icons and so did the app drawer. Some launchers allow you to change them too.

Not really.

This is like buying something at the grocery store you have never tried before, taking a bite and not liking it. Do you return the half eaten food to the store because you didn't like it?

The difference at the grocery store is you paid with real money from your bank account. Here you paid with credits you got for free from spending a few seconds filling out some surveys. Big difference.

Yeah, the theme engine.

I'm not sure how much effect the stock one has on battery life as mine is pretty good. When I go to settings-display-themes, the stock LG one is selected.

I did notice reduced battery life with High Contrast. Never spent much time trying to diagnose why it was happening. I just punted and went back to stock.

It's funny you say this. I get giant diet cola. A few batches back it tasted horrible. It was not sweet. I told the person there the next time i was at giant, they told me bring back the bottle. I said I poured it out. They said it doesn't matter, if you were unhappy with it. I took it back empty and got my money back.
A week later they told me there was a problem with some of them and the shelves were empty. Lol

Yea, I'm done with this lg theme garbage.

I'm going to launcher customization.

Funny, where is the Dev with All this going on. Lol

I'm not the type of person who gives a bad review until I see what they can do for me, so I'm waiting patiently.....

Here's an interesting perspective:

Let's say the average survey takes 30 seconds to fill out with an average payment of $0.15. That works out to $18/hr if you were doing surveys the entire time. How are those earnings somehow less valuable than $18/hr at a job? Sure, you can only spend them in the play store, but they still took work to earn and they hold equal dollar value.

Btw, the reason a grocery store wouldn't take back food is more to do with health codes than anything. If it's general merchandise, many stores do accept unconditional returns or exchanges within certain time frames.
