Are all these posts about folks wanting to unlock a security feature on their phones without paying for them? I've honestly never heard of this particular app before ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It's unclear to me. From what I can tell, PalmPay is a Nigerian (for real:confused:) payment system, I suppose like PayPal or Venmo. I initially thought it might be used as a way to ensure continued payments for a phone that was purchased on a payment plan, but I suppose the plugin could also be to confirm the correct user of the phone in order to process incoming funds. Either way, I feel there would be few legitimate reasons to try to remove this plugin. Perhaps these are used phones that were legitimately obtained where the previous owner forgot to completely remove their accounts prior to the sale, but they might also be, shall we say, "involuntarily preowned" phones, if you get my meaning.:-\

That works for me :p It does make for entertaining reading though lol. I think folks are finding out it's not as easy to "fall" into an "involuntarily preowned" phone as it used to be ;)

How can I get rid of Easy buy security plugin on my phone

I really need to remove easy buy security plugin on my phone bcos i can't access my phone location

Ah yes. Security Plugin. Let me give a comprehensive explanation from my understanding and experience. Security Plugin is a device admin app that palmpay uses to restrict access to phones for those that borrowed and failed to pay back. The punishment starts little by little.
First a constant floating watermark that reminds you to pay on every single app except from your current phone app, the system phone app, palmpay, Google play store and settings app. Then from on the 10th day, you get a pop-up reminder every time you open any app - except from the apps I first mentioned - that is only dismissable by a tiny X button.
From on the twentieth day, the true punishment starts. You can't use any apps except from the apps I mentioned before and your banking apps. Any app you open will be closed and palmpay will be opened. Or if you're adventurous enough to uninstall palmpay, you'll just see the security Plugin app itself open up with a huge phone locked by OK Card which is the name of palmpay's loan.
You'll also be restricted from making calls but I don't know know when that happens because the call restriction only started for me last two weeks when I changed my phone app from true caller back to the default phone app. A move I keep regretting.

I have currently been owing palmpay for 59 days. It's not that I don't want to pay up, I just can't at the time. And the interest has ballooned into something I can't even handle. I owe them 24500 naira currently from 15500 naira. If I could gather that money, I'd rather fix my friend's broken iPhone 6 display that he's not using anymore and mail my phone to them along with the pattern. If they sell it it will offset the loan.

Now here's the good part. There are ways around it. The number one thing that palmpay doesn't affect is FLOATING APPS - apps that draw over the display. I have always had fooView which is a multipurpose floating app which was how I discovered this.
When you open an app and security plugin closes it and opens up palmpay, go to recent and open the app in split screen. Let the app open on top and palmpay will automatically open under. The bad part? You can't use the keyboard because palmpay closes it. Here's where fooView comes into play. You paste your text into fooView's clipboard editor and use it to paste your text into the input box because security plugin won't let you paste text by the normal press and hold to paste. If you're patient enough, you can dismiss the pop up text that shows on the bottom part of the split screen and it will start showing in the top half of whatever app you have open. Quickly tap the x dismiss button and keep tapping it until it stops showing - it can take up to two minutes and if it doesn't work after that, close the split screen and repeat the steps. Then you can resize the app back to full screen by closing palmpay below and you'll be able to use the app normally. If you turn off your data connection and turn it back on or if you turn off the screen and turn it back on, there's a high chance that the pop up will be back.
More on fooView: FooView can be used as a comprehensive floating file manager(it's from the former developer of ES file manager), internet browser, clipboard manager, System navigation, etc

Now here's the best part. There's an app called VMOS that simulates a virtual Android OS AS A "FLOATING APP" Remember security plugin doesn't affect floating apps. The most stable Android version it has is Android 7.1.2 and it has support for Google play services and root. The two are optional though. You can use it as a normal android phone but you can't make calls in it. That's what I currently use. The only painful thing is the inability to make calls.

I won't explain anymore than this because the steps involved are strenuous and only a tech-savvy person will be able to do them(a lot of split screen involved in setting up the app and when transferring files between your Android and the Virtual Android which is why I didn't attach any screens hot because I'd have to transfer them to the virtual android through split screen.) Note that you have to have at least 3GB of Ram for VMOS.

If any kind internet stranger can help me repay my loan I'll appreciate. For now, I'll deal with this situation as it is.

Re: Why security plugin in my phone

Allow me to introduce you to some new friends.

Threads merged.

You remind me of the old time traffic cops that actually directed traffic before the advent of traffic lights :p

Keeping the internet safe for lost travelers is a full time job ;)
