memory card wiped after eris update

The ota update came through for my eris so I installed it but now my memory card shows that nothing is on it. Also having trouble with messaging. I use handcent and now my status is showing 100% uptime that I had previously taken care of by installing handcent instead of using the native messaging app. Any thoughts or did anyone else experience the same problems after their update?

Dang I have no idea how it could have wiped your memory card but all your apps should be there. Also uninstall and install handcent see if that helps. If your memory card is wiped unless you can travel back in time there is no likely way of getting your data back sorry about that.

Download a copy of recuva to your pc and install. Mount as card, launch recuva, and have it recover files from the disk. Works like a charm. If you ever accidentally delete files, do this and don't write anything to the card until you recover it.

Yeah it kinda sucked but my pictures were on Picasa so easy fix there. Most of my music was on the laptop. Lost several that had downloaded but over time using imusic I will replace those. I was just completely floored that it happened in the first place. Was using headphones and listening to music on the phone when the update came through then did the update and went to play around with the phone to see what was different right after. So I really didn't lose much but I still don't understand how it happened.
