Micro SD keeps unmounting itself

im having the same issue..i tried everything..factory reset, format sd card, new sd card but still having the same problem...i have lg g3 by the way...please someone tell us how to solve this.

Same problem here. Got a LG G3 (total piece of ****) and all of a sudden just after i took a photo it unmounted itself and since then it will do it every 10 seconds or so when inserted. This was around a month ago but since then the sim has now stoped working. I have now bought a new phone but still have locked files on the SD card which i want. Any suggestions?

To judge a phone as a piece of Crap, and you have not explored possible multiple solutions is a little overboard. Android phone issues can be caused by multiple variables. Your SD Card could be at fault. The slot that holds the SD could be suspect (did you take out your card, put it in another phone or USB SD Card reader inserted into your computer's USB slot? ). Do you know how to properly remove an SD card? (Go to Settings, Storage and Unmount better removing live; or just power off device and remove; improper removal at the wrong time can cause corruption). When you handle the card, are you putting your oily hands on the gold pins? (Clean with alcohol, make sure all evaporates before inserting). Have you tried to put a little thickness, such a thin paper wedge, to push the pins downwards to engage better both in the devices SD slot, or the USB reader? I have noticed that some generic, basic SD Cards seem thinner; check out a SanDisk brand SD card to compare sturdiness. I have had my LG G3 since the first month of its release. It has been my favorite phone to date (tap on, tap off? Best thing ever! ! ). I have had NO need to even upgrade, as this phone is performing great.

I just started having the same problem yesterday. Got a "SD card corrupted" message and it asked me to reformat, which I didn't want to do. I rebooted and it was reading the card. Then started to unmount and mount.

Just before this happened, I noticed a TON of icons in folders on the gallery. Icons you usually see is email signatures like LinkedIn, YouTube, etc. I deleted them all and shortly thereafter this started.

I run AVG pro. No virus warnings.

Thoughts?

UPDATE: Old card was a Samsung 32G Class 10. It was a few years old. I just bought a new Sandisk 64G class 10. I installed it (didn't format on PC or anything) and it worked much better... for about 12 hours. Next morning, the problem reappeared, albeit it less frequently. I put a small piece of post-it paper on the back of the card, even though it looked snug. didn't change anything.

Tonight, factory reset...

Factory reset didn't help.

I then tried deleting and reformatting the new card and installing it empty. Didn't help. I just ordered a class 4 card to try because I read that they are more stable and actually better for simple storage of pics and vids

Wait! I got SD card unmounting and mounting again and again on G3. Finally it mentioned SD card is a blank one.
Did all things above except factory reset.
Finally after unistalled LG Smartworld, it works normally.

Micro SD card keeps unmounting itself and Invalid SIM rebooting issues.

My LG G3 D855 is running Lollipop (Android version 5)

1.) For the past month, the Sandisk 16Gb SD card keeps randomly unmounting then re-mounting itself. Whenever i attempt to access anything on the card, it immediately unmounts itself.

2.) Phone runs hotter and it seems the heat is around where the sd card/sim card is mounted. It would say INVALID SIM and reboots on its own.

Can somebody help me? How can I get above 2 issues resolved?

See response in your other thread: http://forums.androidcentral.com/lg...d-card-rebooting-invalid-sim.html#post5396187

That is what mine did. Added a bunch of weird emoticons to my photos.
Then started getting the issues with my SD card. I tried re-formatting and still
kept receiving the "unmounted" issues. So I bought a brand new SD card (both
have been SanDisk). Same issues.

I am very pissed. I have the same problem now. I have tried two different sd card. Nothing is wrong with them pc and gopro can see them and no ejections but if i put it in the phone it's keep ejecting. verry annoyin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I see everytone stopped talking about it. Looks like no one found a solution :(

Same problem,
And I tried everything renaming, buying new SD card, formating, factory reset.... All. :-) no budge. And phone is getting hotter and hotter and also my Sim card sometimes doesn't read (but I noticed that it happens when my battery dies and I turn on the phone WHILE on charger). Anyway, is there a way to get in touch with LG about this somehow?

Hi there, new to the forum so unsure of how much detail may help.

Basically my LG G3 is running lollipop but for the past month, the sd card keeps randomly unmounting then re-mounting itself. Whenever i attempt to access anything on the card, it immediately unmounts itself.

I've tried the following:

- Format SD card and copy over old data; no effect.
- Purchase new SD card and copy over old data; new card still unmounts itself.
- Checked SD slot for obstructions/damage; none noted.

Does anybody have any idea what is causing this issue/possible solutions? I've checked and all apps are stored on the internal memory only so also rules this issue out.

I'd rather not factory reset the phone unless its the only alternative!

Thanks in advance.

Same problem here. It started a few days ago out of nowhere. I love my LG G3, but this might drive me to buy a new phone.

hi all, running marshmallow on my LG G3- Verizon- latest update last week. Started with the SD card corrupted, unmounted messaging about 3 weeks back.

I have done all the tips from the Lollipop thread- ejected, backed up, reformatted with my PC, renamed, reformatted on my phone, factory reset.

All in different orders. Yet I still get the unmounted and corrupted messages. I have replaced the card with other micro SD cards i have - which all work in other devices- phones, cameras, video recorders- but none of them have an issue with the card.

Anything new to recommend? beside buying a new card, which I don't feel is the issue, but if it worked for you LMK.

I found out on how to fix it, guys!!!!!!!
I was having the same problem with sd card. Then, I started to have a screen problem, where it starts to flick and fades out. I did a lil bit of a research and I found out that other users were having the same screen problem, and, they managed to fix it. Look on youtube, "lg g3 screen flickering" or something. So, I figured: what if that's related also to the sd card? Well, it is! If you use the same methods to fix the screen issue, you'll also fix the sd card issue.

Same problem here. Sd card works fine using other phones. Tried two different sd cards, works flawlessly using another Android phones but lg g3 can't even detect these same sd cards. Happened after the latest upgrade from Verizon. Is there a way to roll back the updates?

Same sd card issue. Phone also getting much hotter on top around the sd card area. LG G3 is still a great phone. I think they are forcing us to upgrade because I can see myself having this phone for 2 more years. Any way to unlock the Verizon LG G3 phones? It would be good because I am on Cricket now and it also complains about the sim card but only after a restart.

What video are you referring to? is this one? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gAUkXLR7eQI
you used the paper trick to solve the problem?

I had both issues, my screen went dead against the settings made, and the SD card was unmounted and remounted, or remounting at times failed completely.

I opened my phone according to what is shown in the second haf of the video, and I placed a paper strip on the location as indicated.

The issue of the screen-goes-dark did not return, so far. The SD card also appears to be recognized without unmounting, so far.

I did the repair just yesterday, will see what happens.

Thanks for posting the link to the video.
