MMS images are very grainy using Google messenger

I've personally never had a problem with MMS quality on ATT using the standard EMUI messenger. I tested quality back and forth with my work S5 which is on Verizon.

I'm with Cricket which uses ATT towers and I've not noticed any inferior picture quality when I've texted pics from my honor to my other phone which is a 6p. However I have had a one time only issue where my picture text failed and never sent through. Since then the very few pics I've sent to my 6p and vice verse both appeared to be of regular or typical quality. Perhaps it could be due to possibly a case by case type deal where at the time of sending the pic the reception or signal is low therefore it defaults to low quality to push the photo through? That could be totally a lame thought but I was just guessing at it. I alao read through the thread and noticed the social media tension of comments lol. I'm 41 and I use Facebook some and I use LinkedIn some too. Social media with today's technology is almost now a way of life if you are internet savvy. It's a common place for communication too. I'm not sure I understood why the negativity was implied over social media. Like all things in life it has its downfalls too. No one should fault anyone to be superior or inferior over the usage of communication platforms. To me this is a they are there if you choose to utilize them or not type deal. They all aren't set up for only young adults I personally don't think. Anyways I'm going to send some more picture texts and test the quality again. Now I'm curious what could cause some to be getting less quality photos than others.

I have this issue with Google Messenger on my Honor 8. I talked to a rep with ATT and she said it was not a carrier limitation. I will say though that the images I text look terrible. I'm not sure where to go with this. I guess I'll try the stock messaging app but from what I read that doesn't work well either.
