Moisture Detected Issue

I recently got the S9 and was out yesterday and noticed that a notification popped up on my phone screen that I can't get rid of that says

"Check charger/USB port"
"Moisture has been detected in your charger/USB port. Make sure it's dry before charging your phone. It may take some time to try completely."

I did search this problem and see that apparently it's a feature in some of the more recent Samsung phones (my last Samsung phone before this was the S5). I've been considering taking the phone back to AT&T(and having to pay the restocking fee unfortunately) but I'd rather not if there's someway I can stop it from happening. I can't even charge my phone until the notification decides to go away. Considering I need it for work I can't really let this happen on a regular basis. I really do like the phone for the most part besides this and a few other minor details but if this is unavoidable then I'll have to rethink my options.

I received that same message on my Note 8. It went away on it's own and hasn't come back.

When I had the Note 8, I had that very issue. TMobile (carrier at the time) did a warranty exchange. There was no restocking fee because Samsung confirmed it was a known defect and so it was covered under manufacture warranty. AT&T should do the same for the S9Plus, especially if you've not gotten it wet.

That was very annoying I remember, not able to charge which is critical, and with my Note it would beep and keep notifying me. It would go away when I restart the phone, but only to reappear a little later in the day.

It seems to keep happening in particular if I use the charger I been using in my car, idk why. I'm going to try plugging a different one in the car and charging the phone to see if that works. I spend a lot of time driving and I need my phone for GPS and things like that so I can't have my phone unable to charge. I'll give it some time I guess. I have two weeks to return the phone and get a different one according to AT&T. I still have to pay the restocking fee though.
