Here's the Moto X I'm thinking about buying when the $140 off deal hits

Back: Blue
Front: Black
Trim: Silver

Anyone had their leather back for some time now (months) and have feedback about how it has held up- possible peeling or objectively ugly blemishes- as well as how it has aged- the more subjective build up of scuffs, wrinkles, and patina that most leather fans really like?

After lusting after the wood backs for awhile I've decided to go leather. I love all things wood, but I'm concerned that after a few months it will just seem gimmicky and chintzy to me and I'll end up hating it. Plus, from what I've seen and read, it's a total crap shoot as to whether your particular wood back will have an attractive, natural real wood look, or a gaudy, fake looking candy stripe effect (I know it's all real wood, I just think some of the samples are really tacky).

I'm torn between the Cognac and Natural leathers. I'm much more of a fan of darker brown leathers, but I'm thinking the natural might provide the best "blank slate" for manipulating the color through conditioning and/or staining. Some of the Cognac pics I've seen look nice, but I'm concerned about the hue. I want a neutral brown, not a reddish or orange brown.

I have the Leather Navy Blue back (black front, metallic dark gray accents)- got it around Thanksgiving and looks and feels as good today as the day I took it out of the box. No regrets!

Just got a replacement code from Motorola deciding between chalk back, black front, red or blue accent. Then my other options is Royal Blue back, black front with red accent. My first one was navy blue with orange accents

There was mention of certain colored speaker grills not having ridges. Does anyone know if the gold grills have ridges?

There is a slight red to it, but I would better describe the cognac as (American) football color.

On that note, I haven't seen too many other designs / any designs of the Moto X by Moto maker of my design. White front, Ebony wood backing and red accents. All my favorite colors haha!

Haha oh I bet they are! I mean this in their stock design of the 2nd gen Moto X is actually freaking awesome so any design you put on is going to be awesome. I'm not sure though honestly had the leather backings fair in the cold weather and with age. That's what they were saying on youtube.com

No, my first generation Moto X had a red backing with black lettering and I white front. I wanted to do something completely different this time and the regular wood backing just seemed to plain jane and boring to me honestly though. That's of course why when with the ebony it looks rich good quality... Of course. Under warranty for a year. And honestly, with Android lollipop 5.0 on this phone this thing is even more bulletproof, smooth, fluids, faster than the original was. The battery is nice too. I turned my screen brightness all the way down to about 20 30 percent and my battery is lasting 18 to 20 hours at least with moderate usage. Honestly, I can't ask for anything more

I know right I love the new Moto X design especially because of the make talaq frame in the thinner edges it feels far more premium opposed to the original Moto X which felt kind of cheap in a way

I love the original Moto X so much of course that I went to the second generation model. The only only thing design wise and I didn't necessarily like about it was the thickness on the sides I didn't even mind the 4.7 inch touchscreen because that meant it was one handed operation all the time. Now, the 5.2 inch screen is nice gorgeous beautiful you can still one hand operate it. But yeah those thinner tapered edges are freaking awesome and gorgeous.

yes I never really did mind the 4.7 inch screen on the original Moto X it was completely functionable for one handed usage at all times

I never really did like white-faced phones until Samsung released its Galaxy S line up more specifically the galaxy s 3at that time galaxies were very popular and very premium and they still are very premium and popular ever since then if it's almost as if Whiteface phones seemed more Premium then blackface phones therefore I love the look of white face phones

Yes I know what you mean. I never liked white faced phones either until the Galaxy s3 either. Because you see the camera lens and the IR blaster more so but I see you looks better and more techy

I'll tell you this much, the Moto X and white and the galaxy s4 s3 and s5 they don't look the same but any white phone looks identical to each other basically.
