Moto X 2014 Cases!

How is the fit? Can you post some pics when you get a chance?
The fit is fine and easy to remove.

i bought 2 cheap tpu cases, one coming from china arrived today, the other shipped from within the US. both are missing the mic port cutout on the upper rear deck, as chris20nyy pointed out. i suppose i could punch a hole with a hot nail or ice pick, and it would be ok. the supcase hybrid beetle arrived yesterday, and it is made much better than the cheapos, with all the proper cutouts and its fit is excellent. the one BIG drawback, which many have complained about is the frosted back. any phone would most likely not be affected by a frosted case, but moto x owners are sure to find this an issue after customizing their phone, and wanting to enjoy the back that they chose. i decided to order the clear case from ali express, afterall, its less than $4, but ships from China.

How well does the Hula bumper protect it?

So far I'm liking it. I dropped my phone yesterday on the sidewalk and there is no damage to the actual phone. The Hula Case seems to have survived mostly unscathed, too. There may be a tiny little mark near one corner...but that's the point of the case!

I recommend the Hula Case for anyone who want to see and feel the back of their phone. It's not the most protection but it's the next best option!

I have the supcase unicorn beetle and the speaker grille seems to touch the table when i place the phone face down on the table. Anyone else seeing this? I even have a couple scrapes on the speaker grille. :(

My moto has the cognac leather back. I was considering buying a clear plastic case but don't like how it looks. It just take out all the charm. I think the wood looks better with clear plastic.

The Hula Bumpers are in stock on the Motorola site. My wife and I are new owners of the Moto X 2nd gen. She got the white with red back. I got the black with cognac leather. I searched and searched looking for cases that were attractive, not too bulky and didn't cover the back, while otherwise offering good protection. I went with the Hula Bumpers. I couldn't be more pleased. My wife got the chalk which integrates perfectly on her phone. She is very picky and style conscious. It looks great

Took me awhile to find a case that looks decent and that isn't bulky. Found the gf the Evecase from amazon for around $5 with shipping. Can't complain. Its cheap, its clear/frosted back. Its not the ugly "wave" or "s" design by the other TPU manufacturers.

To my surprise, it fits and looks great. The face lip protects the front. Thin TPU all around and is not bulky at all.

I'm 100% happy with my purchase

Looks like it's missing the cut out for the mic above the camera lens.

You're correct. The case does cover the mic. I don't think it's really a big deal. The gf hasn't noticed anything different with it being covered.

But I guess it can be an easy fix. I could heat up a needle and poke a hole in for the mic.

Asking a dumb question since I'm an Android newbie, are the cases for the 2013 X not compatible with the 2014? I'm looking on Amazon to get a feel for cases for the X I'm considering buying and saw cases that were specifically designed for the 2nd Gen and ones that didn't say anything.

The 2014 Moto X is bigger in size then the 2013 Moto X so the cases for the 2013 Moto X aren't compatible with the 2014 Moto X

I've got the CASE-MATE TOUGH NAKED CASE and it's a great solid case but it adds too much bulk for me personally, also not much grip either.

Picked this up at the At&t store in Indy. Did have to go to a couple of stores to find it though. Very happy with the two part design and matching power and volume buttons. With the original moto x I had the otter box commuter but it defeated the purpose of having a custom wood back. This case still gives me a piece of mind and still looks good.

Definitely recommend.

I was looking for a case like this. Thanks for sharing.

Anyone have the cases sold along with the phone at MotoMaker? Or is one of the cases shown here one of the ones sold by Motorola? Thanks!

Re: Moto X 2nd gen 2014 Cases!

Try the Hulu case from Case-Mate.
It is a bumper case, won't cover your bamboo back. Works great on mine. I have a leather back and did not want to cover it. The bumper doesnt add too much. You can find it either on Motorola's website or eBay.

I don't think the i-Blason TPU case has been mentioned on this thread yet, and it should have been. It's a simple, slim case with all of the cutouts it ought to have, including one for the dimple. Compared to the Supcase Unicorn Beetle, which is the only other case I've had, it's slimmer but provides a better grip. The phone even rocks and spins less when placed on a table in the i-Blason.

The main down side is that it only comes in black.

It was early on by someone. I bought 3 different cases but absolutely love the the plain jane simplicity and fit of the i-Blason TPU case. I also bought the Supcase Unicorn Beetle (just don't like it as much and i-Blason TPU) and the i-Blason Prime Series dual layer with kickstand (nice but to big for my pocket).

I have the i-Blason case and a member here sent me a CaseMate Gelli case and they are very similar. I like both but the CaseMate one seems to have a little better fit as for front protection.

I really like the phone without a case tho
