Moto X 2014 Cases!

I was looking for a case everywhere and none that I saw really stood out to me or felt right. So I went with a skinomi skin protector. Couldn't be happier.

I've seen a few on here using the Supcase hybrid with the clear back. Some use a Galaxy S5 holster. If I were to use the two, which Seidio holster?

In other words, case size. The standard case or the thicker active (called something else now). Any idea? I bought the Supcase Pro combo but would like to show off my back and I won't carry a phone without a holster.

Thanks!

Does anyone have any good experiences with the Hula bumper case in drops? I'm concerned with the thinness of it that my phone will shatter anyway.

Thank you!

The emperor's new case?

Assuming that phone is photographed with a case on it, I can't imagine it would provide protection against anything but light scratches. Certainly not drops.

I have ordered a DuroCase with a kickstand. Should come in within a day or two. It was worth trying for under ten bucks, and appears to have nice protective rubbery corners for drops.

** EDIT **

So the case finally arrived yesterday. For what I'm looking for, and especially for ten bucks, it's perfect.

The case adds a little heft to the phone. For me, this is a good thing. The Moto X turned out to be too thin for me. I never felt like I could grip it properly. This adds soft rubbery grip points right where I want to grip it, either hand. The cutout exposes the little "M" dimple on the back and makes it deeper and easier to use as an actual grip point. It puts a little flat bit on the back so the phone lies securely on flat surfaces, while still rounding up a bit for ergonomics on the sides.

The "Starry Night" artwork is sprayed on, and not a decal like I feared, so that should hold up for a while. The kickstand, while a little hard to open and certainly not super strong, has a reinforcement bit that slides out and is extremely stable in both portrait and landscape configurations.

And the corners have thick, soft rubber which should really help with drops. Not that I'm going to test it. The front bit has a nice deep recess but still manages to feel secure while not blocking access to any part of the screen, so I can set it face-down without worrying about anything on the surface scratching the screen or getting into the speakers or whatnot.

It does push the limits of my neoprene holster, but it fits if I work it in a bit and stretch the cover down over it.

Has anybody found a good clear case for this phone? I ordered a black Hula bumper for me and this one for my wife (but it's frosted clear):

Amazon.com: Motorola Moto X (2nd Generation) Case, Cimo [Wave] Premium Slim TPU Flexible Soft Case For Motorola Moto X (2nd Generation, 2014) - Clear: Cell Phones & Accessories

I have that Cimo case and really like it. It's got good "grippiness" and does not add any bulk to the phone; it fits really well. The only complaint I have is it's frosted :(.

The best case for all phones in Incipio Offgrid Battery Charging cases. They are strong and you have extra battery power when the phone poops out on you. You plug in at night and it charges the charging case and the phone at the same time.

A few people wrote reviews on Amazon saying that they had issues with the speakerphone because there is no cutout for the mic. Have you noticed this?

I have not noticed any problems with that myself; I mainly use the speakerphone feature in the car. I too have read those comments, and some folks have had to make a small perforation to accommodate the mic. There are also comments that Cimo corrected this in newer cases, so I'm curious if your case will have a cutout for the mic. I ordered mine as soon as the new X came out, so if they have, I might just order a new one.

The case will arrive on Friday (before the phone does), so I'll let you know.

I don't see where it's 40% off - has that sale ended already? I'm just seeing $35, which sucks because I really want that case. :(

EDIT: OOoooo you have to use code GM14! It doesn't tell you except on the front page of the website.

EDIT 2: This isn't actually 40% off - it's UP to 40% depending on how much you spend, and you have to start at a certain level.

I am getting $35 for that case, even with the code. It looks like I have to spend $50 to save $15. The regular price for the same case seems to be $30 at AT&T's official website.

I am definitely going to be purchasing that case today. Is there a better deal? Thanks!

The code I used was CM40 and has expired. It was 40% off no minimum.

I was using the Casemate Naked Tough Case which I liked for the clear back. Unfortunately, I found that the overlay button for the power switch kept the switch partially depressed, so that the slightest brushing by a finger would light up the phone. I changed to the Supcase, which has the opposite problem - the power switch overlay button is very stiff to push. I have ordered one of those cheap clear cases from eBay, which uses cutouts. Hope that solves the problem.

many people are talking about the iBlason case, but I can't seem to find the one for the second gen X. Does anyone know where I can get it online?
