Moto X 2014 Orders delayed?

Re: Moto X Orders delayed?

In addition to my email above, I just now after setting up fedex Insight, just went to Delivery Manager (FedEx Delivery Manager - Customize Your Home Delivery) to see any inbound deliveries.

weird, only because moto 360 that's on its way does not show in Insight or via Delivery Manager - I'll give it some time, maybe on the next time package is scanned at the next acceptance location.

(don't mean to drive everyone crazy here with all these fedex posts - simply would really like to know when the phones are coming in as looks like moto doesn't even notify they've been shipped in some cases)

All I did was set up a User ID with FedEx and then sign up for their Delivery Manager. Didn't set up or need the Insight service you described.

^^^ This. Sorry I didn't specify the second part. The Delivery Manager will give you a lot of great services. And it's FREE. Win-win.

Re: Moto X Orders delayed?

Perhaps we should all list what we chose to get a better idea of WHAT'S delaying the orders.

I ordered a black leather/black face/black trim, Verizon model, on 09/26 around 4AM EST and was given an estimated delivery of 10/03. It will be delivered tomorrow, 09/30, a few days early.

I just ordered this morning (09/29) a Pure Edition model (same look) and was given an estimated delivery of 10/09. I've already received an email saying it is being assembled so I'm expecting delivery a lot earlier than what I was quoted.

As an update to this, my Pure Edition model came in today - 7 days early. I also never received an email saying it was shipped.

Estimated Delivery Oct 9, 2014

Ordered today(10/02) at 6:49PM CT, received the 'We're Assembling It!' e-mail within 4 hours of placing the order today at 10:36PM CT.

Re: Moto X Orders delayed?

Ordered 9/27 32GB VZW Black/Navy Leather / Blue Accents
Estimated delivery 10/22
Received assembly email 9/27
Called moto 9/29 to edit my order and they said it's already in route to FedEx. The site still says 'Not Shipped' and I set up FedEx account as suggested annnnd nothing.... Very weird others that ordered this same day is already receiving theirs. And I'm in the Dallas fort Worth area where these things are supposedly being shipped from. Shouldn't take this long if it was in route since Monday.

Maybe, but you're gonna have a lot of pissed off people who are still waiting for their Oct 22nd ones that were ordered on or before the Verizon launch day.

Re: Moto X Orders delayed?

Mine comes tomorrow, a week early. The only reason I knew is by checking Motorola.com and logging into my account and checking "my orders". The shipping notice and tracking number were right there. So don't count on an email if you're anxious- keep checking your Motorola account.

Re: Moto X Orders delayed?

Ordered 9/18 with an expected delivery of 10/13 and there's been no action whatsoever. Signed up for the FedEx account and there's no tracking number. At this point, I'm not sure what to do. Others have received the exact phone I ordered within a week while Motorola sits on my money and I have nothing to show for it. According to the Motorola rep, I can't cancel the order because "it's in production". Is anyone else in the same boat I'm in? It's ridiculous how they're dealing with this situation. I wouldn't care as much if they hadn't immediately charged me for the entire amount of the phone (Pure Edition).

I'm in the same boat as you sadly. We have this waiting game. I guess you could call your CC company and have them credit it back to you.Might cancel the order as well.

So what are you upset about? Is it 10/14 and my calendar is wrong?

Is moto says expected delivery 10/13 when you placed your order and that's too long for you...you could have canceled your order immediately.

Re: Moto X Orders delayed?

Started order this morning for a Pure Edition Moto X (2014) 32GB version... things looked promising... it said "Estimated Delivery 6 days"... wow, nice.
Then after I did everything and submitted the purchase the confirmation email says: Est. Delivery Friday, 10/24/14*
It's NOT the White front, this is a Black front. Sigh... the clock has at least started for me to see this new device.

I just remember when I was about 7 I did a mail in order for a gi joe toy that said 6-8 weeks for delivery. about 4 weeks in i got upset i hadn't gotten it yet and canceled my order to get my $6 and upc codes back.

I think I've grown up a bit since then and if moto says my estimated delivery is 10/23 I'm not going to be whining online that I haven't gotten it next week.

Not sure why I bother answering this, but here's why I'm upset: a) Motorola charged my card for the full amount immediately and will have been sitting on my money for nearly a month while I have no product. I did not know this when I placed the order. Amazon, Apple, New Egg, any of the big brands I order from never charge until they ship...as it should be; b) my biggest complaint is that people who have ordered identical phones as mine many days later have already received their order, sometimes within 4 days. Motorola is not being fair with how they distribute their phones, and that is upsetting. Most respectable companies operate under a first come/first served basis. Obviously, there is favoritism occuring at Motorola, i.e., Verizon account holders are getting phones almost immediately while others, like me, have no definitive delivery date other than a vague "October 13". Call one of their reps, get BS answers from them than tell me YOU'RE not upset...

There's a big difference between $6 and $600 last time I checked. And if my 7 year old friend had ordered the same GI Joe toy weeks after I did and received it weeks before I did, I would be pretty darned upset. There's no whining going on - there are legitimate complaints being issued. There are pissed off customers like myself who are being treated unfairly and then given the run-around by reps. It's a bad way to do business for a company that needs all the goodwill it can get right now...

I tried to pre-order on the first day. At the moment the site went live I entered my order, had an estimated delivery date of 9/26 and the site bogged down losing my order. I immediately entered my order again, had an estimated delivery date of 10/3 and once again crash and order gone. I tried several more times throughout the day only to find that my credit account wouldn't process, all the while watching my estimated delivery date get pushed further and further out. Tried online chat with Motorola, started at number 95 in the queue, when I reached number 1 (after an hour of waiting) it kicked me out and said no customer service reps were available. By the end of the day the site showed no black fronts available on the Pure Edition and still my credit card payment wouldn't process. I finally gave up. I checked the site many times after that and watched the estimated delivery dates and availability of the black front Pure Editions. This past weekend I finally pulled the trigger and placed my order, had an estimated delivery of 10/9. This was much earlier than dates I was getting by the end of the first day. I was satisfied with that and as luck would have it, my order is out for delivery today, almost a week early. Long story short, if I had been able to place my order on the first day, I would likely be in the same position as your are today. I completely agree with your frustration and can understand you being upset. It only seems reasonable to assume orders that have been placed would be filled in the order they were received. Hope you get your phone soon.

Unfortunately you cant, unless you call Motorola almost immediately.

I ordered on the 27th (Saturday) and called Motorola on the 30th because I wanted to make some changes. My delivery date is estimated to be Oct 22nd. They told me that my order had already been "exported" and once that is done they said they are no longer able to make any changes to the order or even cancel it. Your only option is to actually receive the device, call up Motorola immediately, and cancel or get a remodel credit (or something like that) to change your design and then send the phone back.

I don't have a problem waiting but I think it's absolutely ridiculous that you cant cancel or make changes to your order roughly a month before it's expected to be delivered and before it's even being built. Are they really going to argue that they are shipping these parts out one by one once an ordered is placed and not in bulk?

Agreed. I just got off the phone with yet another Motorola rep trying to get clarification on the situation. I was told that I couldn't cancel the order, couldn't change the order, and that the promised 13th delivery date might slide due to "supply constraints". If that's true, I'm refusing delivery of the phone and moving on to another vendor. I already have an iPhone 6+ (which I love), but like to switch between iOS and Android because my job demands I stay up on both platforms. Unlike iOS, there are plenty of Android options, and if Motorola can't treat its customers better than they've demonstrated, they'll lose this one...

Re: Moto X Orders delayed?

I'm not trying to come across as a moto fanboy or be overtly rude. I'm just shaking my head a little bit at anyone who placed an order, was immediately given an estimated shipping date, and is now upset prior to that date even arriving. If you saw 10/13 and thought "holy crap that's ridiculous", you could have popped onto moto chat or called customer service and had your order cancelled instantly.

Yes 100% of orders should be processed in the order they arrived in, totally fair point. Maybe there's some other factor at play there that we're not able to see. But at the end of the day your confirmation page said X date and it's not that date yet.

Re: Moto X Orders delayed?

The only problem with the Droid Turbo will be that it does not get updated nearly as quickly as the Moto X on Verizon. That has been the case for the past year. When the Moto X gets Android L, the Droid will be waiting for most likely another few months. But hey, I could be wrong! Turbo seems like it'll be a great device...I just worry about it being left behind. Plus...it looks kinda ugly :P

Totally agree with the "ugly" label, especially compared to the beautiful Moto X I designed on Moto Maker. As far as updates, my current phone is the Droid Razr M (Verizon) and they pushed out all the updates fast but unfortunately 4.4.2 KitKat absolutely ruined functionality of the phone (BT stopped working, battery life destroyed, messaging delayed, and phone lags severely). Each successive patch that Verizon/Moto push out for my phone further cripple it in some way. So I'm convinced that with Android L on the horizon, we may not want the fastest updates until ALL the soak tests work out ALL the bugs in transitioning from KK to L.
