Ordered mine using moto maker Sept. 26th. 32 gb, ebony wood, red accents. Carrier is Verizon. Estimated shipping date Oct. 22. Just got an email from Verizon confirming it shipped today (9/29), i.e., 24 DAYS EARLY! Estimated delivery is Oct. 1st. So much for estimated shipping dates. They appear to be grossly overestimating the shipping dates to cover their behinds.

Just looked at motomaker- Black face with wood back and 32gb on verizon says 17 days.

To everyone whining about how they're being treated 'unfairly'- There are A LOT of factors at play here. Yes, I would like to get my new phone ASAP but I'm fine even waiting till the estimated Oct 22nd for it. From what I can guess, the long estimates are Motorola's way of covering their asses- You have to consider the logistical problems that have to be solved for a release of this scale. Most of the phones parts are the same but there are differences between carrier versions (GSM for AT&T, CDMA for Verizon, and another version for Pure) in addition to all the custom options for front, back, accents, and memory not to mention any engraving. Between all these variations and (I assume) multiple factories in different locations, of course not everyone is going to receive theirs in the order placed.

Your use of the term "whining" is insulting and unjustified. Motorola charged my card immediately for the entire amount of the purchase. Now, I'm told I may have to wait over a month before receiving the product, while others get the exact same product in days. This is certainly constitutes an unfair situation. At the very least, Motorola should not have charged me until the phone ships. That is what every legit vendor I've dealt with does. In essence, they have my money for weeks and I have nothing but inaccurate estimates of delivery. Not a great way to foster goodwill with your customers.

Ordered mine (Walnut, black, orange) on Motomaker.de, estimated shipping was October 2nd. Received it on Monday 29th already.

Paid for a phone 2 weeks ago, got an assembly email 2 days later and BAM! Delayed last Friday. Then Verizon customers who ordered white fronts 10 days after me get theirs first? I'm fine with it being delayed bit, I'm even fine with people who ordered a day or 2 after me to get their phones first, but at some point it becomes ridiculous. Somebody needs to call moto out on their shoddy business practices.

Thanks for the lesson in logistics...we know all that. It is an old business custom to take care of the customer in front of you rather than looking past them for another customer. As many have already said they need to under promise and over deliver. I ordered the first day, September 16th. I ordered a pure edition 32 GB black face, normal black black and dark grey trim...pretty standard. I was perfectly willing to wait until the date of 10/13 but when you start to see others that ordered a pure edition the same day already start to get their phones, and I have heard nothing from moto except that are assembling it since the 19th...come on... to top it off as many have also said they charged the cards so they have had my $585 since the 16th. It is just not the way to keep customers happy. I am okay though because I ordered an iPhone 6 plus on the 12th and got it last week so the Moto X may just be going back since the note 4 has caught my eye...

Did a mock order for a 32 GB pure edition all blacked out and estimate was delivered in 4 days.

I had the same exact order (except orange accents) same day, same carrier, same expected shipping day. Haven't heard anything yet about it being shipped.

I honestly expected delivery times and estimates to be all over the place given the weirdness people were seeing on Day 1 of ordering. Black front out of stock! No wait, only for 32gb version. Now it's gone again! Now it's back, but the white is out of stock! Now it's in stock but only if you don't choose wood or leather! If that didn't tell you things were going to be wonky for a bit, I don't know what would. It's one reason I decided to wait to order one until everything calms down and Moto settles in.

Forgot to mention that if it really does take until 10/23 and the Droid Turbo is available by then I will def cancel this order for the Moto X. I heard the Turbo will have all the same Moto software features with a much better battery, camera, and processor and hopefully an SD card slot. Basically all of the shortcomings of this 2014 Moto X will be covered in Droid Turbo, with the cost being slightly higher and the footprint being larger (not sure it will be a 1-handed phone).

Mine still says delivery by 10/13, I am amazed though they have no idea why my order hasn't moved at all. Its just very high demand excuse. I go on line now and it says the same phone I ordered, pure edition with ebony back and metallic silver accents will be delivered in six days. That just kinda pisses me off that they can't even dig little and see what is going on with my order, same old it will get there when it gets their excuse. Just mad new orders have faster delivery date than what they are telling me and they refuse to look further than what it says on the order summary page for me.

Its funny though I told the rep to cancel my order on the phone and just let me get the watch and I will customize another one. He said sir its being assembled so I can't cancel it. Thats the same thing someone else told me 10 days ago, lol. I just don't seem to get anyone who wants to help. It's just their unwillingness to help that pisses me off. They just say looks like your order is scheduled to be delivered on the 13th, anything else I can help you with? Yea may be tell me why they keep telling me its being built when I want to cancel but when I want to check status they don't know whats going on, lol.

Does it have anything to do with location? Maybe my shipping would be quicker? Southern California here.
