Moto X - How well do you think it's selling?

They don't seem to be advertising it at all. And the ads on youtube seem very cheaply done. They aren't entertaining at all.

There was some (although limited) advertising for the 2013 Moto X but I've seen absolutely nothing for the 2014 version. I will be quite disappointed if Moto drops the X altogether and there is never a 3rd generation of it.

A good marketing strategy is quite important. Samsung, apple, sony and amazon are quiet good in that. If you have the best product but the people don't know about it, nobody will buy it.

Moto seems to traditionally have a week marketing group and with the transition to Lenovo, I am afraid not much is going to change as Lenovo (at least in the USA) does do much marketing of their computer business.

All the higher-end cases/covers for the 2014 are sold out. Business must be good.

I don't know if this is any indication of sales but Costco has already stopped carrying it. Replaced by the Turbo.

I final got my hands on the Moto X 2014! I love the original but the new one is quite big and the store demo was with a leather back cover. I think it okay looking but I rather see what the plastic looks like!

I would buy it if it drop $100 off the price for the 32GB model. But it pushing my storage to the limit! Not sure why the don't have 64GB at least. They offered it on the original at the latter part of the Moto X 2013 sales cycle. If the Moto X had 64GB; I would buy it at $50 less so at $450!

As for looks; it subjective I know but compare to the iPhone 6; it does not look that good! It looks old style especially with the dark circle camera and dark aluminum edge in the demo compare to the all metal iPhone 6 which feels more substantial.

I don't think it will sell as well as the original Moto X since it is bigger; battery life is the same and there is a lot more competition coming out from Sony, Samsung, LG and others. It price at the lower tier but lacks Android feature such as removable back cover, micro SD card and replaceable battery.

It a nice smartphone; but not something you would go crazy to buy! It has to be price right for me to go and buy it!

The Moto X 2014 is available in a 64Gb option. Look on the website.

It's unfortunate that it doesn't sell as well as many of the other flagship Android phones out there. It should sell loads, it is a great phone, both hardware and software wise.

I've owned other Motorola phones & here's the "deal breaker" for me. The droid series as well as my new moto x has excellent speakerphone quality! I like to walk around the house with my phone in my pocket, or while driving down the road & know one can tell I've got my speakerphone on. The Samsung galaxy's I've seen have their speakerphone mic at the bottom of the phone & the iPhone 5's all sound like the caller has a sock in their mouth when using the speaker. I got in a heated debate with a friend over his iPhone 5s. He thought because he had a MacBook & most of his friends had iPhones, that it was by far the best phone in the world. When I told him my moto x-2 had 3.1 times the processing power or better screen res than the iPhone 6 he was shocked & pissed at me for telling him. The ONLY thing he could say is "how come the iPhone sells more than anyone else". I think that probably 30% of iPhone sells are from " peer pressure " with maybe another 40% own other apple products & just don't know that of all the things apple has for sale, is that the iPhone is the weakest link in it's lineup by far. BTW: Got my Moto X-2 for free 3 months ago from att with a 2 year contract. :-) :-) I did read a news article about Lenova pushing the Moto X-2 in China really hard & that sells fiqures were brisk.

I just read they sold (altogether) 10million phones in last quarter, so that's a 100% growth since last year. Cant be bad. We dont know how much of that succes is thanks to Moto X. I would say the Moto G model is making big sales. But Moto X gets popularity even though there's no real advertisement on it.
Which is weird because today you dont need money on that, just make a good video and post it to youtube with a clear message - hey we've got sth new for ya - and watch it spread. The Moto X customers are those internet-youngsters anyways.

I think their 1 day sale must have gone pretty well. I ordered a phone on Monday (before the sale) and within 4 hrs, I got the "we're building it" e-mail and it shipped last night. To take advantage of the sale price, I ordered one yesterday, and I still haven't got the "we're building it" e-mail (~19 hrs later).

I ordered one tuesday within an hour of the sale opening. It originally estimated delivery next Monday, but it's on the delivery vehicle as I write this. :)
