What you are describing is that the Moto X is a niche phone. I agree with that point, and I think that is exactly what the Moto X is. If that is the goal that's fine. But we keep hearing from pundits about how the Moto X should be more than a niche phone. What gives?
It definitely feels like a phone that has kind of a cult following. Those who love Android know what a Moto X is and what it can do. Those who just want to play on the surface of Android and not customize it too much (or who don't care about fast updates) go with Samsung, HTC, etc.
