so i bought the Moto X pure edition and my experience has been horrible this far. First off their customer service is abysmal, my first order i canceled but it was never canceled due to poor customer service, my second device had serious speaker issues with distortion at full volume in addition to cracking and poping sounds.. also when i turn the device from landscape to portrait the audio goes out and lets not mention the leather scratching after 2 days... now I can buy a LG G4 for the same price with a leather back, removable battery, sd card expandability, and the best camera on a smart phone... so should i take the jump to LG ???

If you feel the G4 will suite you better I say give it a try. I left the G4 for the Moto X and there honestly is no way I would go back to the G4. The Moto X is a fantastic phone. You have had issues though where I haven't so.. that definitely can change judgement.

As to your points...

Leather back - For me? Doesn't matter. I could have gotten one on my Moto and I didn't.

Removable Battery - I never changed it even with my free spare. It was so rare since I would have to take off the back and all that -- I just rather plug it in and call it a day. That said .. I didn't have a position where I absolutely need battery and can't plug in. If I am in those situations I have battery packs.

Full Volume - I believe any speaker at max volume is going to distort. The G4 speaker is no different

SD card - Very user based. I have a 64 GB Moto X and unlimited data. Space isn't a huge thing to me. For you it may be so that can sway the decision.

Best Camera - Very subjective.

i am getting my replacement unit on monday so with that being said if i have the same issues and my 14 day day ending on thursday i will have to make my choice quickly... i have to admit coming from the s6 and the bloatware and slugish response i wanted something snapy with no boat but i am missing some key features such as multi window, ultra power saving mode, private gallery, etc.. i just dont know if pure stock is for me ..i guess i was hoping for a lite skin and not barebones

Sold my g4 and never looked back. The g4 left a bad taste in my mouth, even if I loved my g3, that touch screen was awful on the g4

I'm sure if You check the LG g4 forum you can find horror stories too.

The g4 has the same size battery, smaller screen, LG's skin, optional leather back, SD card support (MXPE does also). If that's what you want then go for it.

For me I'd rather stick to an unlocked un-skinned phone. And my order process hasn't been the best either but I'm hopefully I'll have it soon.

I was on the fence between the G4 and the Moto X. But in the end (although disclaimer: I'm still waiting on mine) I'd still always go with the Moto X. Just because I care a lot about having an unlocked phone running (very near) stock android. Those two things, and the dual front facing speakers are what are really want. I have friends with G4's, and they like them, it's just a matter of preference really. It depends on which features are important to you.

I had the international model of G4 and have a Moto PE due to get here early next week.Even though either phone has no carrier bloat. Im ready for my Moto PE to get here to use in place of G4.Having all the Moto X line of phones Love them over LG.Hopefully your replacement phone is better

The Pure's camera is on par with G4 in daylight. The video camera is better due to the average at best audio quality on the G4. The Pure has larger screen, front facing speakers and is running stock android. The laser focus stuff is a bit overrated IMO.
