Motorola Droid Turbo: Bugs, quirks, problems and more

Is there any way to calibrate the compass? Mine is constantly 90 degrees off.
Also, is there anyway to implement google's predictive dialer? Not sure why they didn't include it but I found it very helpful when trying to call local businesses.

Oh how I want to be rid of all ADS!!! My last phone I had root and zero nags/ads, and I can't wait to be rid of them all...again. To try and get some peace I ran Ad Block Plus, and it doesn't seem to function correctly on the OEM Turbo OS...I downloaded it and after a bit of fiddling I uninstalled it.

Apologize if this has already been noted - there are now many pages to this thread and my internet is creaky for some reason.

I use the Verizon message app on my phone (it's the default on the Droid Turbo apparently) and also on my two Nexus 7 tabs. My previous phone was a Droid Maxx and before that a Droid Razr Maxx. This is the first device I've had this issue with: SMS messages replicate themselves every few hours. I have wound up with as many as 8 copies of the same message. Has anyone else seen this with the Turbo (or with any other device)? Any idea how to prevent it?

Just got my new turbo today. I wag in the process of moving content from old phone to new and the new turbo just stated restarting repeatedly. I can't even get past the big Motorola symbol before it restarts again. Anyone else seen this? Anything I can do?

What is Softcard, and is it safe to use? I'm gun shy with all the scam issues going on.

It's a mobile payment application and service, like apple pay is for the iPhone 6. Not a scam, but Google also has Google Wallet available if you want to use that. I haven't used either myself, but I'd be more likely to use Google wallet.

Softcard is the [evil] collaboration between VZ, AT&T and T-Mobile for mobile payments. They were the reason Google Wallet was blocked on these carriers until a year ago. It's pretty clunky in my opinion, I just use Google Wallet. It accepts most cards and loyalty cards.

This may have been mentioned. When in a call, and you go to press a number key or end the call... the notifications bar is down. WTF.

Having problems with msm_hsic_host keeping phone awake on my turbo I've seen it was a problem on nexus 4,...but turbo? Anyone else have this? Can anyone help?

Hey guys does anyone have problems with their droid turbo freezing?

I'm having an issue that may be the same as yours. I noticed that my alarm wouldn't go off in the mornings. I pick up my phone when I finally wake up, swipe to unlock the screen, and it goes blank. Pressing the power button doesn't turn it back on. I have to hold the power button until the phone resets. This has happened to me three times so far, and I have missed class twice, and was late to work once. I use a regular alarm clock now.

This has happened to me during the day as well, although it is a much bigger problem when it happens at night with an alarm set that never goes off. I wiped system cache two different times, in addition to wiping app cache and that didn't work, so I factory reset on two different occasions, and just kept Google apps installed, and that did't work either.

I'm convinced that I have a lemon, and Verizon is sending me a warranty replacement via mail. Not too happy because the replacement devices are usually refurbished, however, the rep said it may be brand new because the phone was just recently released and there may be no refurbished phones on deck. Also, it's being shipped economy instead of overnight? Vzw trying to cut costs. I asked a manager that I'm friendly with and he told me that they only overnight replacements now if the phone has paid insurance added to the bill. Previously they used to overnight all replacements. Found that interesting.

Click on the phone icon, click on the three dots on the lower right, select settings, scroll to the bottom. It is called Voice Privacy. I think that is what you want. It's not really a volume thing, but some people seem to think it helps with that.

So the only way to call with the freezing is to get a replacement? Did anyone else fix this issue?

I don't think that many people have it. If 2 separate factory resets didn't fix it, nothing will. After the second reset, I didn't install any apps or disable any bloatware, and it still happened.

So I just got my droid turbo. And for some reason I can't receive messages from people I haven't texted first. I get notifications that a person has texted me and when I go to my messages it is not there.

I just received the droid turbo...great phone but it's conflicting with texting. SMS is delayed to me for 1 minute. We did all sorts of testing with changing sim cards and turbo phones and it seems when my google account or apps return to the phone, texting is delayed. Tier 2 Verizon says that the messages are not finding my phone... ugh So if there's a conflict with software or a setting, please help. I've invested about 12 hours with the phone.

Also, when is the advanced calling coming out so we can have mobile data and calls simulataneously?

Feedback please,

Carolyn

Probably doing it wrong, but about half the time I command my phone to do something, it does a Google now search instead. Any suggestions?
