My experience with battery life with HTC extended battery

Some stores actually got them on before the tbolt was released. Im sure HTC knew that they needed to have extended battery on the shelf when the phone is actually released.

It really doesnt bother me. I used the hell out of my phone yesterday, 3 hours of pandora, as well as heavy gaming and internet use. And last night it was only at 43 percent. The extra bulk isnt a dealbreaker. If anything, it made this phone so much better IMO. I was doubting my initial purchase the first 2 days because the battery life was God aweful. But this is a full cure for that issue. Just waiting for a case for this beast to come out.....

Do batteries from older HTC phones work on the Thunderbolt? For example, I have a 1750mAh battery from the Incredible that doesn't require an extended cover. Would it work on the Thunderbolt?

I don't have a problem with bulkiness, I only wish they had cases for these extended batteries

That would be great if it did. I saw one for sale at BB for the Inc the other day and would surely get it if it worked.

my only issue with the extended battery is the lack of a case tbh (even though it'd make it even beefier!). I prefer to keep my items in pristine condition (especially this phone since i plan on selling it after my 1yr $230 contract is up).

I feel like I'll probably just suffer through the stock and maybe pick up an additional one while trotting this around in my innocase II

I have that extended battery and it is huge and it is ugly. I hate it and am planning to send it back.

I have the leather holster case that I bought from Verizon for my old DX and my phone does fit in that even with the extended battery. Its very snug bu it fits and the flap closes and is held down securely by the magnetic lock.

I think the extended battery is probably a good idea when you know you're going to be away from a charging source for most of the day, say on a business trip, at a conference, on the weekend, etc...I might pick it up and use in those instances. For most of the day during the week I'm at the office and can just leave it plugged in. It's weekends when I'm out and about that I can't always plug it in whenever I want that it will come in handy.

Sorry but it will 100% NOT fit. The battery from the incredible is almost an inch longer in length. I have both phones and compared the batteries side by side.

Yea, I didn't think it would but my hope was really that they would make a battery like that for my phone that's all.

Thank tho.

+1 for an 1800mAh extended battery. On my D2 I got 4-5hrs on my 1400mAh, yet 11-12hrs on my 1800mAh. I'm thinking about getting the 1600mAh from seidio, but $49.99 is a lot, so I'm going to see if somehow a 1800 or something comes out. I'd even love to see a 1700/1750.

Anything but the 2750mAh!

Yeah I like the extended battery as well. Not that I don't like the uniform look of the regular. I like having something to hold on to when browsing or playing a game. And the extra definition to the phone helps with this. I found I was pulling out the kickstand to have something more to hold on to while surfing. And when I let a friend look at it, that was one of the first things he said when I showed it to him. Just got it today though, I am really excited to see how long the battery lasts on this one though.

by the way OP you put the screen protector on upside down lol. I did that too until I realized the curved part goes on top and fits much better like that

The plastic belt clip style should still work with the extended batteries, because they face in when attached. May not be what you're looking for, but it should work for now.

DInc/EVO battery is longer, not the same size.

I'm trying but can't seem to kill this extended battery. Off the charger since 11 p last night. 4G signal the whole night and day. Consistent usage including 20 min of live streaming and lots of browsing. Still at 43 % ! Yes its ugly, heavy...but so much better than the 1400 battery....
