My experience with battery life with HTC extended battery

Scratch protection from shipping/handling.
Stock cover and extended battery cover had the protective film/tape too.

Is that what you're talking about?

Some stores actually got them on before the tbolt was released. Im sure HTC knew that they needed to have extended battery on the shelf when the phone is actually released.
This is what makes me irate - they heard consumer complaints about the poor EVO battery life... so they made the Thunderbolt batter *smaller!*

What kind of pics do you want? Here's a few I snapped real quick (I know, its dusty!):

Nice close-up pics of the Extended Battery. I'll compromise on thickness to be able to enjoy the Bolt's 4.3" screen and not have to micro-manage all it's settings......;)

Is it even worth it to get the 1600?
How much more time do you think it will add on?
In my opinion, not much or none or less.

Considering that 1600 is only 14 percent more than 1400, and considering that most batteries (especially aftermarket batteries) have been tested to underrun their specified mAh in virtually every case, usually by 10-40 percent, I'd say buying a battery spec'd at 14 percent more than the standard is not worth it. Just my opinion

My first day with the extended battery showed these results:

I had charged it previously and let it sit a few days. When I installed it, it showed 93%. I was using the Hotspot feature most of the morning so I had it plugged in. I unplugged it at 11:30 am. It showed 100% for the first 2 1/2 hours of use. Phone calls, texting, facebook, (1) foursquare check-in, Stupid Zombies, Sudoku, internet.... I rebooted to see if the battery percentage would reset and it did down to 89%. Not too bad. I continued to use the phone normally as I do everyday as listed above. I'm pretty much on it about 75% of the time. After 9 hours of use the battery had dropped down to only 53%.

I can deal with the added hump for this kind of performance. I just wish someone would release a decent case for it.

On another note. I used the standard battery yesterday while traveling out of town for an interview. With the phone off most of the day for plane travel and while onsite for four hours for the interview I was at 16% before I left the airport for the trip home. Ridiculous......

Thats sad with that big brick your just going to get about 6hrs what the oem battery calls for. Im talking use time

Just ordered mine. I don't see why people think it's so ugly. Who cares what the phone looks like to other people, they're not the ones playing with it.

IMO I think it's totally worth it especially until either some better type of batteries come out or they find a fix for the battery draw.

What's the point of having this awesome phone if you can't use its features to the fullest? If I wanted to ****** all the features, I would have gotten an Incredible...

I wonder if you can customize one of the Thunderbolt silicone cases to fit the extended battery. On my old Dinc I cut out the part of a silicone case to allow the extended battery to poke through. It actually made the phone look less awkward and bulky. Just need a sharp exacto knife to do the work. There was a thread on this somewhere on the site on how to do it.

If you would have used the stock 1400 battery a few more days, you may have been surprised to see it becomes much better after about 4-6 full charge cycles.

Sounds like that extended battery will be great for the folks that are heavy users and generally w/o a way to charge for a day.

I've already thought about putting my dock in a mill to cut out the area so I could put my bubble but TB in the car dock.

I have the extended battery too. It's almost double the capacity of the standard and it lasts a long time, but dang it makes the phone heavy! I can deal with the weight of the phone with the standard battery, but having the hump in the back and the extra weight is a drag for me. I will use it when Im at home & know I am going to be on the phone a lot playing games, downloading, messaging, surfing, etc, but I wont cart the phone around with me in my pocket or purse with the extended battery unless I absolutely have to.

Does the standard battery last for a full days use?

Mileage will vary by user.
The speed of this phone is addictive, once you get over checking the speed test, setting it up to your likings and getting over a new toy...probably.

But LTE will burn through the battery...but as said, this new toy is addictive.

depends on how much you use it. 4hrs of use is about max battery so that give you about 15min each hr in a 16hr day to play not much time...

I got the extended battery yesterday, and to my surprise, the extra bulk really isn't that bad. It fits nicely between my fingers when I hold it, so I don't have to worry about dropping the phone without a case.

It's been on since 6 this morning and it's now going on 4 in the afternoon and I'm at 73%. I can definitely handle that. Before, I'd be well below 50% and I hadn't even sent texts or played games. I'm anticipating the extended will also probably improve a bit after a few charges, but I don't see much need for improvement.

I'm now loving this phone!

1800 OEM battery that uses the OEM door .....or.....bust.

I'm rooting for 1850mAh. I heard the Inc has the option of an 1850 that uses regular battery door (anyone). I really hope that there is something in between 1400 and 2750 that can use the regular battery door. I am doing the recycle phone deal at VZW and am hopefully getting $30 each. Once that card comes in I will get one of these unless something else comes along.

It's 7:10pm and I got off d charger at Wat do u kno 7:10am 12 hours later with modern use and heavy mods to get it to work like this and its still at 62% oem battery but o my self would like anything in between 1400-2700 of power

A battery halfway between stock and extended would be good. So about 2000mah with an extra 2mm.
