My google assistant stay stuck at "just a sec...". Please, help me

My phone is severely malfunctioning. Since last night, I haven't been able to do much with it because it keeps going back to this "just a sec" screen (it looks like a google design). Every time I try to hit my home button and go to my home screen, it just redirects me to the just a sec screen. Most of my other apps barely work right now and the time on my phone is also incorrect. I've tried safe booting my phone, but it just did the same thing. How can I fix this?
