My Nexus 5 was stolen by UPS

My Nexus 5 seems to be going same way, not traceable or any update after 3rd Dec. Thanks to UPS. :-X

My nexus 5 was shipped the same way. I purchased it on Halloween, got the shipped email the day after. It then took 5 days before the stupid ups tracking number updated any information what so ever. Then it was delivered a day or two later.

Already suspect on the UPS driver, because any electronic item I ever bought for $100 plus I always had to sign for Fedex, USPS or UPS. Sorry to hear this suck you have to wait longer now. Should file a complaint with UPS and ask to be compensated

ups left an xbox one at my doorstep in an apartment and fedex did the same with my n5. I was so confused, especially since I am in an apartment with a front office. I could have easily claimed it was never delivered.

You'd get charged anyway because UPS has a record of the delivery. I live in apartments and many times other deliveries were stolen because UPS would just leave stuff outside my apartment door for anyone to take and often they did (steal my stuff). And the credit card company will not issue a refund. Nor will the seller.

Actually they will refund you. Amazon does it all of the time. I had a package that was never delivered but said it was. Amazon asked me if I wanted a refund or a redelivery.

I guess it depends on the seller.

UPS sometimes will ask for a signature, they do depending on if the item has insurance on it, or is over $200 or so. I had to sign everytime I got my Xbox 360 back from repair, which I'd always put $300 insurance on it (which comes out to like $20).

But yeah, it's pathetic how some people just decide to steal from anyone, it always irritates me.

The worst part is that since I could see by the tracking info that the package was out for delivery, I went ahead and listed my current phone on eBay with a buy it now price. I figured it would take a few days to sell, but no, it sold within a few hours. So now I must send off my current phone to the buyer who has already paid me and I have no new phone. Called Google and was told that they would open an investigation and would refund the full amount of my order, but that I would have to place a new order on the Play store if I wanted to replace the stolen Nexus 5. Of course the Play store is now out of stock and new orders are having to wait 3-4 weeks for it to ship.
What was the outcome of this?

What matters at this point is that the OP gets his new Nexus5.

An anecdote from my life selling at eBay, I sold a used cannon elph 310 8xMP shooter some three years ago for like $250 or something like that....story short, the buyer told me that he never got it (either the FedEx guy/shipping loading college students or he faked it I mean who knows I'll never know), but the delivery via fedex showed that the package was delivered. Guess what, he put a dispute via eBay/Paypal and I was forced to refund him every single penny via PayPal. I did not put insurance on the package (a life experience), I lost the money and the camera. This sorts of things happen and I'm sorry to hear it happened to the OP.

Had the same thing happen to me with a Garmin GPS unit I sold. I just quit eBay all together. Too Many scammers out there. I use sites like Swappa now, and EVERYTHING I ship is insured =)

Glad to see I'm not the only one.

My box arrived here in Toronto. It was cut with a knife and the only the phone was taken.

I called Google & UPS both quite reasonable. The end result is a refund and a disabled phone (see below) and a refund

I wonder if there is a work around a black listed IMEI

From Google:

"Thank you for contacting Google.

UPS lost my Nexus 5 when I ordered it. Google was quick process a refund so that I could reorder. Before I reordered I called Google to see about them paying for next day shipping because of the problem with their contracted carrier. They did! The rep sent me an email asking me to reply with the tracking number when I got it. I did and they refunded the total shipping cost.

The exact same thing just happened to me in Toronto - box cut open, phone stolen, everything else in place. I also got the same email from Google though, strangely, it doesn't ask for authorisation for them to disable the phone. I guess that must be automatic now. UPS are the lowest of the low delivery companies around Toronto from my experience, no idea why Google would use them.
