With my V10, most days I had 5+ hours SOT with 15 hours uptime. Some days I had 6 hours SOT. I would have to go back and look but I'm pretty sure I also had days where up time was 20+ hours and 4 hours SOT.When it comes down to screen time, what are we looking at here? If I can get anywhere upwards of 4 hours SOT during a single day of use, then I would be happy.
Thanks. With my V10, most days I had 5+ hours SOT with 15 hours uptime. Some days I had 6 hours SOT. I would have to go back and look but I'm pretty sure I also had days where up time was 20+ hours and 4 hours SOT.
All of that was very similar to my Note 7.
With improved and more efficient SoC and a slightly larger battery than the V10, I expect the V20 to get very similar results.
How so? It's slow slim that you don't even notice it in a pocket.Same here. Having to carry around a spare battery, sounds about as much fun as carrying around two phones.
My V10 was very similar is SOT and uptime to my Note 7. I expect nothing less from the V20.
3 email accounts, 1 gmail, 2 outlook, all set to pushWhat kind of use? That seems to defy reviews from sites that compare and the hardware. Smaller battery, two LCD displays, higher powered DACs and a more power hungry 808. Initial reviews not too kind on battery life, but love everything else. The reviews in fact ding the battery life, but point out the swap-able battery. Seems little gain to come from boxed units and the Nougat improvements are sleep mode and not much better than the already good Marshmallow.
The reason I ask about use is the one big issue about the Note 7 is weak radio reception for LTE and oddly power hungry wifi. Even the wifi runs warm on the Note 7. LTE though is 8 to 10 dBm weaker than the Note 4 and that is significant and huge to battery life.
Seems that is why such big differences with battery life of people with the Note 7. Using LTE with the Note 7 in weak areas drains the battery faster and due to the weak reception, there are more Note 7 weak areas. heck, even the wifi oddly drains more battery on the Note 7.
Apparently the V20 has good radio reception, so could see the V20 defy the hardware specs and get better battery life in some situations than the Note 7.
I didn't think that mattered with an LCD screen, only an AMOLED one.The LG high contrast black theme will help battery life.
You are correct. LCD's use roughly the same power no matter the colors.I didn't think that mattered with an LCD screen, only an AMOLED one.
The LG high contrast black theme will help battery life.
All preproduction reviews. All reviews so far have not deviated. Battery life is similar to the V10 and a lot less than the 7E in comparison about 50% less for web as example.
