My Phone Was Stolen

So sorry Ninjarette!! I have been checking my Samsung order several times a day waiting for this to happen to me. I had several re-order attempts from them cancelled on Friday. Last order still intact as of now.

My current phone is not a newer one like yours. Older LG phone on its last hoorah and taking a lot of TLC to keep going while I wait. Will be interesting to see if we ever get these phones and when. Again hate that this has happened to you!

Wow. You actually need a phone, so I really feel bad for you. Thanks for the concern. It's going to work out for us both. Stay tuned.

Well, AT&T cancelled my order. Samsung wouldn't take my order as an upgrade. None of the stores near me have the phone. So, I ordered from Best Buy to have it shipped. I probably won't get my phone till June, but hey.... I'm cracking up over here. ????????????

Heck at that point might as well just pre-order the S23 and wait a few more months lol. :p If it makes you feel any better I dropped off my S22U at FedEx yesterday morning and it's saying that the tracking number doesn't exist and that there's no information on it.

Shoot. I was looking at the iPhone 13 Pro, but I have all these Samsung cases. Lol. I can only laugh at this point.

Wow, that's for a device you're returning? I hope you saved the FedEx receipt!

Have in store pickup at best buy. No chance of it being stolen then.

I goofed and said S22U when I meant S21U (my trade in). It's still not in the system Monday 10am as of yet. So if it got lost/stolen that means that I not only lost the trade in discount but also the phone. Yay.

Not if you saved the physical receipt from FedEx. But even if you didn't, it's hopefully just a temporary tracking delay.

I have a receipt but it's not from FedEx. There is no official FedEx store around like UPS stores in the area its like some third party drop off location. Also on the receipt: "Northeast Pack & Send does not take responsibility for any loss or damages to pre-labled drop off packages". So it's like, how do you win in a situation like that where there are no official FedEx drop off locations provided? So it's like an employee can just go take a package and they're self exempt from liability? lol. I'll tell you one thing, if Samsung doesn't receive my package that was sent with their label that was provided where FedEx is saying that it's not a valid tracking number and a legit drop off location isn't provided in my area, I 100% will not be eating the cost of the trade-in value. To make matters worse, the phone number on the receipt given doesn't even work, some business there that FedEx is using as a pick up location using a non-working phone number lol. Either way I'm not worried about it because I have pics and videos of packing it up and did everything right on my end, if they don't receive it and try to charge me I just wont pay it. Period, the end.

Except that the 4th item on the trade in guide email specifically says "All packages must be dropped off at a FedEx Ship Center."

You didn't do everything right on your end. It's not on Samsung or FedEx to make sure there's a Ship Center convenient to you.

Convenient? Define convenient. 1hr round trip, 3hr round trip, 6hr round trip, 12hr round trip, etc. Sheesh as big of a company as FedEx is, they can provide ship out locations just like UPS. This place has a sign on the front that says "FedEx Authorized Ship Center". On Google maps it even says "FedEx Authorized Ship Center". What the hell else am I expected to do on my part?

Just curious how would you interpret "FedEx Authorized Ship Center" Is that official or no?

Man, this totally sucks. Hopefully, assuming AT&T knows the IMEI of the phone they originally tried to deliver, they can trace the thief? Or maybe it's too much trouble and they'll just eat the cost.:-\

No the thief should be traced and penalized even if it takes a little trouble. I have an idea, phones should have a shipping mode where they can be tracked in real time on a map and they can only be unlocked for use with a code that's provided by the shipper making them useless to thieves.

You're expected to use a FedEx Ship Center, convenient to you (not my definition, but yours). If there isn't a FedEx Ship Center convenient to you, you're expected to use another service that is convenient to you, or take the risk.

No, it isn't official. It's authorized.

You took the risk, and it's biting you. Sucks to high hell, but you took the risk. Hopefully FedEx works it out in your favor, but next time, spend the extra $ and use your convenient UPS office.

Well, looks like a phone is on its way...via UPS...from Best Buy. Let's see how this turns out.

FedEx delivered our Verizon phones on Friday both phones in same box but each one has a separate return UPS label. Called Verizon they said to send them back in same box but not sure I should since they each have their own shipping label.

Well looks like a false alarm anyway, finally got into the system at 5:45pm this afternoon and looks like it's on its way. I've used the same place three years in a row and don't have any other options. And even though the worker at the place said that it would be picked up Saturday, the FedEx site states that this location doesn't do weekend pickups so it probably wasn't even picked up until today which would explain the delayed tracking info.
